percentage of taller women relationships YOU see

what percentage of relationships do you see in your area (not googling numbers, but YOU noticing), where the woman is taller than the guy.

Just in daily observations around me the number is zero percent. I think I noticed it twice in my life many many years ago, but nothing for decades.

Personally, rather than in the media, I don't think any. I once went out with one girl the same height as me. Never been out with a girl who was taller. I've never really thought about whether I would, or whether my fragile male ego wouldn't be able to handle it!

reply

Years ago, my shortass brother went out with a woman taller than him. Heck, she was nearly as tall as me, and I'm 6'0".

I wonder how women feel about it. Do most women prefer a guy to be taller, or do they not care?

reply

most questionaires, most interviews, most personal opinions from woman, they say they prefer taller guys.

I've heard some women say it didn't matter too, but never saw them dating shorter.
But, yeah, I don't recall ever seeing woman taller - because when I did in the past it was easy to notice.

There was a woman at one of my old jobs who was particularly tall. Probably about my height. She wore flats, but in heels, she'd probably tower over me. I was keen on her, but she left the company before another colleague advised me that she liked me too. She sent me a Facebook request, but stupidly I didn't bother getting in touch.

Anyway, I wonder how I'd have felt had we dated. I also wonder how hard it must be for a woman who's around the 6 foot mark to find a man who's much taller than her.

reply

Maybe 1% to 5%. Personally I find tall women particularly attractive but I rarely see any taller than myself.

reply

There isn't actually a great deal of overlap between the genders height wise. There is on average a 5 inch height difference, avg man is around 5ft9 with women around 5ft4.

5ft9 is actually very tall for a woman. 95th percentile height in the USA for grown women is 5ft8. Only 2 or 3 women per 100 are as tall as the average man. (It may seem like more due to footwear). So you see the tallest of women still have half of men to choose from.

To answer your question, it's honestly like 1% if even. My neighbours are one example the husband is around 5ft7 and the wife is maybe about 5ft8.

My uncle and aunt are another, my uncle is 5ft7 and my aunt is 5ft8.

Aside from that I'm drawing blanks. From seeing people out and about it's very rare to see a relationship where the woman is taller and even if she is it's often like the two examples I named where the woman is only an inch or so taller. It's pretty much parity as opposed to being outright taller.

I wonder if men are instinctively attracted to women 5 inches shorter than them, and vice-versa.

I'm between 5'11" and 6', and I find that 5'6" to 5'7" is the 'sweet spot' when it comes to women, but one of my friends, who's 6'2" tends to favour taller/supermodel height women (i.e. 5'9").

I dated a tallish model a while ago, and one of her main complaints about guys is they equal or shorter ones never approached her! And she kinda wanted that having grown up taller all her life, having many guys avoid her because of that.

So, straight from the model's mouth, fellas... approach the tall SEEMINGLY unapproachable types. It worked for me. In heels she was equal or taller than me, but maybe an inch or two shorter normally.

I AM G'6" AND I LIKE SHORT WOMEN...THE SHORTER THE BETTER.

My best bud is a short guy and he’s married to a taller gal but that’s about it. They are a great couple and quite happy.

But most straight guy/girl couples do seem to have a larger guy and smaller gal arrangement. I believe that women, while very strong, want extra protection from the dangers of the world and also a man that can move couches, build stuff and keep the yard looking nice.

I think it comes down to practicality, Ladies are as smart as dudes.

Men tend to be good builders, all full of speed and muscle and big ideas.
Women can properly organize events. respond to correspondences and plan stuff.

It’s a good system.

tall women tend to end up with taller guys. like my sister.

My niece's ex boyfriend was shorter than her. She's 5'10".
