What do you look for in a film ?

In my case depends the genre I’m watching.

Romance and Dramas. Being invested in the story, a story which gets my attention and has a good peace to not bore me.

Musicals and Music Biopics, great songs really that’s all I’m looking for here.
Music which makes me go looking for the soundtrack right after watching it.

Action and blockbusters I look for cool cHaracters, characters which make me root for them.
The reasons MCU Fans, Star Wars Fans and Bond fans. We love those films because they presented us great charming heroes, guys we sigh for and make us girls feel like I want a Man like him.

Comedy : hear the most simple answer jokes with great delivery. a movie which genuinely makes me laugh a lot and makes me very happy at the end

I think it's something that's come with age but I'm more into films that tell a good story over anything. Less confrontational, less violent but not totally fluff. Slower paced, low key films.

Films that discuss science and technology really should have some kind of solid footing in the facts of the matter too. It's not a hard rule but I really don't like films that take a lot of liberties with the line between science fiction and fantasy. Not that a good fantasy film is bad, I just don't want it presented like science.

I've also developed a strong dislike for films with loud soundtracks. I think that's another reason I barely watch more than one new film a year anymore. Too many editors who feel the need to smack the viewer in the face with a soundtrack.

A good story. And a good ending.

I love special effects and action, but if the story is thin then I don't enjoy it.

Similarly, if the ending isn't realistic (in relation to the story), I find it a cop out. It can ruin a film for me. Happy endings aren't always warranted.

I mostly watch horrors, westerns, war movies and historical stuff….comedies sometimes.

Just about all my modern film watching is horror or action. I do love some classics though.

Good writing & good performances.

In terms of action films, good action choreography & good camera work is a definite plus
