Can you return almost anything to Walmart?

Like for example I purchase a shampoo I'm not happy with the way it leaves my hair after use... I use it once or twice and a couple of days later ask for refund... would they refund with receipt?

I usually don't ask for any refunds... I have done some at Wal-Mart in the past but it has been actually defective items or broken items... but not with something I'm just 'not satisfied' with.

Just wondering.

Thanks in advance.

You could certainly try. Walmart should have a satisfaction guarantee on almost everything they sell. It might not be worth the trouble, the line at the Customer Service counter that handles returns is often quite long and slow. If you don't get satisfaction through Walmart, you could call or write the company that made the product.

reply

Yes.

Anytime I've returned something to Walmart, the people at the counter couldn't have given a shit less.

I've even started offering an explanation only to realize that they had stopped listening halfway through my first sentence, and were already scanning the thing and ringing up the refund.

On expensive items, maybe different. But for shampoo they will not care at all.

If by some small chance in hell they ask, tell them it was burning your scalp or itching or something. I try not to lie, but you know..

Thanks.

Yes.
And if it's a great value brand you can bring the empty container back and still get your money back. You might even be able to for a regular brands too but I'm not sure about that. But yes. You can bring any item back.

reply

not if you have used the whole product.

If it's a Walmart brand (Great Value, Equate etc) you 100% can. As far as non-Walmart brands, probably not. But if the non-Walmart brands are not empty you can definitely bring it back.

i would never return a half used roll of toilet paper or underarm deodorant.

Just take comfort in the fact that you could if you wanted to at Walmart. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

For low cost items I have the same philosophy as Jerry:

I wouldn't know. I haven't shopped there in years, and then only as a last resort. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This thread reminds me of The Nordstrom Returned Tires Legend, which I always assumed was BS, but apparently might be true, at least in some form...

My guess is no since you've used the item and there was nothing wrong with it, you just didn't like it. Maybe let the manufacture know and they might send you a refund.

I've returned used products from Walmart. So yes you can.

As long as you only used small portion of the shampoo like you mentioned. When you return something, it should look like you tried some of it and didn't like it, and not look like you took advantage of it and used half the bottle.

They are good in returns.

I've had my reasons for returns like "I already have one like this" or "I bought the wrong product" or "I didn't like the smell or taste" of something and I didn't even get a chance to even say those things because they didn't even bother to ask. All I said was that I wanted to return this certain item and they just took it back. Plus if they by chance ask you, all you got to say is "I'm not satisfied" and that would be enough. No need even tell them why you're not satisfied.

This is why I think Walmart has a lot of customers because they are so good at letting people return things.

Expensive stuff like microwave and shaving machines that could be 100's of dollars can be returned after opened in 30 days. Some stores are 60 days. Even other expensive stuff like smartphones and computers can be opened and tried out and if you're not satisfied, you can return it in 2 weeks. You have to check when certain stuff can be returned by though.

Be sure to have your receipt. Sometimes lines are long, so bring your smartphone and play some video games if you want to keep busy as you wait.

You can do the same at Target.
