I am surprised by how much what happened to Jeremy Renner affects me

I always appreciated him as an actor and have a lot of respect for the guy but what happened to him Makes me feel really bad. I hope he gets back on his feet.

He'll be alright, seeing as how he's a time traveler. Here he is in a picture from the late 1950s or early 1960s:

Aww bro! Thanks for the laugh! I needed it.

When I first saw that picture many years ago, that one guy immediately reminded me of someone (it was before he made it really big in the Marvel Comics movies), but I couldn't think of his name. It kept bugging me until I remembered I'd seen him in a movie with Ben Affleck, which turned out to be The Town (2010).

So... you feel really bad about what happened to Jeremy Renner... because you took a ride on his snow plow... not knowing he was walking nearby????? 😲

I just got off the phone with Mr. Renner. He said to tell StoneKeeper (weird how he calls you by your moviechat name) to stop worrying about him and think about the real issues like why don't more athletes have to use the washroom during games.

reply

I think the answer is that most people can go at least 3 hours without having to use the bathroom.

reply

Sometimes you just gotta go and don't know why.

That was a rough deal. He’s still fairly young and in shape, here’s hoping he mends up well. I like the guy too, best of luck to him.

reply

bothered me too. it as an accident that could have happened to me. i've done dumb ass shit like jumping into a truck that was rolling away. no matter how rich and famous you are, accidents happen and your toys can kill you. one bad day of ill luck and your whole life is derailed.

see also Anton Yelchin

I just looked at his wikipedia page. I had no idea that happened to him.

I do have a surprising degree of sympathy for him. I mean I've never liked him as an actor, but he's been through horrible suffering and he's going to go through a rehab that's going to make my broken leg look like a ballet lesson.

And he's going to be hearing snowplow jokes for the rest of his life.

You have good posts Otter. I always read your takes and this one is truly funny

Jeremy jumping on a moving snow plow while it's running and posting his bruised up mug in public after the accident makes me think this guy loves the attention.

reply

Well, he did pick actor for a living. That’s another hint. He was simply trying to help someone out on New Year’s day

reply

I wonder if he imagined himself as Hawkeye before you leaped onto that snowplow.

reply

I think he was just trying to encourage all the people who’ve been in snowplow accidents

reply

When I first heard about the accident I thought he had just had an accident while riding a snowmobile. I didn’t realize how big the piece of machinery was until a few days or a week later.
