January 21: SQUIRREL APPRECIATION DAY!

It's that time of the year again!

Squirrel Appreciation Day falls on a Saturday this year, so there should be plenty of opportunities to get out of the house and appreciate our Finer Rodent Friends. If weather does not permit outdoor adventures, hopefully they will be within viewing distance of a window.

If possible, bring some seeds, nuts, and suet to share with these amazing creatures. The squirrels who come to my house are magnanimous enough to share their food with the local birds, who while greater in number, also have far more feeding options.

Have lots of fun, take pictures, and let's hear your 2023 stories!

Yes. The leaves have fallen here and it makes them much easier to spot as the sun is rising.

I hate squirrels. Those little fucking tree rats get in my walls. I trap em and ship em out.

reply

I trap them too and bring them a few miles down the street to a park and let them loose by the brook so they know exactly where the water is.

reply

I let em out an hour away at work.

When I was a kid there were no squirrels in the suburbs. I would have loved to have had them in my backyard.

Now I live in the same suburb and they're allover my backyard. There has literally been a squirrel invasion.

I don't mind them. They're clean animals. But I don't appreciate them.

reply

Squirrels rule!

I will always appreciate and admire them.

Squirrels are nothing more than fuzzy tailed tree rats. They can be vicious too.

^ This! They are vermin. Steve needs a new obsession. How ‘bout Fire Ants Appreciation Month?
