Top 3 Movies of 2022? (And TV Shows)

Favourite Films:

The Batman
Loved Pattinson & Kravitz in their roles, I enjoyed the movie all the more on a second viewing.

Top Gun: Maverick
I was apprehensive over such a long wait for a sequel but boy did they deliver, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Better than the first movie.

All Quiet on the Western Front
Better than 1917 in my opinion, I have not read the book nor seen the 1930’s film, so appreciate this movie for what it is, if I had read the book I’m sure I’d have a few gripes.

Favourite TV Shows:

All of Us Are Dead (Season 1)
With this and Kingdom, South Korea make Zombie shows better than the Americans! This story is set in a school during a zombie outbreak, with a good cast of characters and actors.

Better Call Saul (Season 6)
I was sad to see this end, great acting by Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn especially.

Pam & Tommy
I loved Lily James and Sebastian Stan in this, the two of them had great chemistry together. A fun watch.

Smile, Terrifier 2 & Barbarian.

Honorable mentions; X, Pearl, Prey, The Black Phone.

Horror genre = Master genre

I don't really watch TV shows. This year I started both LOTR: The Rings of Power and House of the Dragon. Only watched about 4 episodes of each before quitting. That's it for TV.

reply

I'm not much of a horror fan but The Black Phone was pretty good.

The Northman is probally my 4th choice, I've enjoyed every film made by Robert Eggers, my dream movie from him would be a Conan adapation. I'm looking forward to his Nosferatu film.

I can only speak for movies, and this list will no doubt change after I catch up with more released from this year.. but my Top 10 of what I’ve seen so far would be:

1. The Northman
2. Cha Cha Real Smooth
3. Resurrection
4. Brian and Charles
5. The Stranger
6. The Batman
7. The Woman King
8. Kimi
9. Elvis
10. Gold

reply

I’ve just watched the trailer to Brian and Charles, it looks hilarious! Definitely watching that.

reply

It’s a charmer.. completely ludicrous premise but it owns it and I was happy to go along for the ride. If Taika Waititi and Ricky Gervais had a movie baby, it would look a lot like Brian and Charles. In short, an awesome feel-good watch.

THAT LOOKS GOOD...AND IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A SEQUEL TO BEN & ARTHUR RIGHT? NOEMOJI

TV shows - SAS Rogue Heroes

reply

Gonna watch that on BBC iPlayer, it looks good.

reply

It’s based on a true story but they do it in a fast and modern way. If you’ve ever seen the old Commando comic books it is like a tv version of those. A good boys own adventure.

reply

Yeah, I used to read them more than superhero comics! 😁
