SPOILERS ALERT - in the film "Made in Britain" (1982) by Alan Clarke...
... at the end, was that cop character PC Anson CORRECT to hit Trevor with his police batton on the knee causing him massive pain when Trevor sarcastically said "Sounds great!" to the info. brought out to him that he will spend many years in detention centre or borstal for car thieving?
I could understand maybe him hitting him if Trevor tried to attack him physically, but other than that...
Also, what if he didn't say "Sounds great" but had shown understanding instead, maybe even apologized and said "sorry", would he hit him then?
What if PC Anson had a female offender or say a young child in front of him displaying a bit of arrogance and bad manners, would he physically attack them THEN or would he show restraint and understanding?
Cheers.
Basically in a nutshell, was he RIGHT to hit him?
P.S. And yes I have seen it, great movie, I highly recommend it, I think its on YouTube too but I own the DVD.
