Bands you are really tired of…

I thought U2 was one of the greatest band ever when I was 10 years old and MTV had become available around 1983.

I’m just really over them, I skip their songs on my Alexa device now regularly.

What good bands or artists are you bored with?

reply

None really. I don't listen to any random music. Everything is decided by me. A bit snobbish and a bit controlling about music.

Now, I will say that when I was a teen I thought Pink Floyd's The Wall was one of the greatest albums ever made but now-a-days I barely listen to it. I force myself to spin it up about every two years and choke my way through it but it's been at least 20 years that I haven't really care for more than a few select tracks of the album.

reply

Coldplay, I never liked them that much but heard Yellow was a hit again in the charts for some reason. It was bad enough the first time.

Next is a solo artist:

I’m tired of Madonna, I wish she’d grow old gracefully, she tries so hard to compete with current pop stars with her latest music trying to be trendy. It’s just crap, I wish she’d release one last decent song but I can’t see it ever happening.

reply

Yeah, Coldplay…Some flaky kid at my job would play that in the background during meetings and I told him to cut it out.

If we are going to play music during a work meeting spin the goddam Lynyrd Skynyrd, leave that Coldplay horseshit for your private weirdo times.

He lost the job, I was happy to see him go.

reply

An situation which will never happen:

Interviewer: "Who has been your biggest influence musically?"
Band: "Coldplay for sure".

reply

Coldplay is less edgy than The Brady Bunch when they had to win the talent show prize to save the house lol😃

reply

Wasn’t Greg’s stage name Johnny Bravo or something?

reply

He was the NEW Johnny Bravo.

reply

He fit the suit!

reply

I think the last Madonna album I liked was Ray of Light. I've seen pictures of what she's done to herself and I just feel sadness now when I see her.

reply

I’ve seen some of those pictures also and I’ll never understand why someone would go that route.

reply

Music was a good one too, and from the following albums there’s one or two good tracks up until Confessions, after that her discography became pretty much unlistenable.

reply

She hasn't had a decent song since the 90s. She should've continued the more classy, adult sound and image of her Ray of Light period, but she resorted to infantile crap trying to keep up with Britney and Lady Gaga.

reply

I think she really went off the rails when she broke up with Guy Richie, her music went infantile around then trying to compete with the latest trends, as did her look.

reply

Will better save any statement about Alexa devices.
Since Corona don't listen to radio anymore.
No band can tire me also. ☺

reply

I read that three times and I have no idea what you’re talking about.
If American is your second language I’d say you did well enough.

Carry on.

reply

Referred to your OP in what you talked about your "Alexa device".
Since I don't use an Alexa device and don't listen to radio anymore:
No band can tire me.

Didn't know that "American" is a language.

reply

Oh, I got you, I just like to carry on a silly joke.
No harm intended.

‘American’ is certainly a language, the English started it but we improved it😄

reply

Agree about U2. I saw them live in 1992 and that remains one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I own 7 of their albums, but I can't tell you the last tine I listened to one. A long time.

Van Halen would be another.

reply

Seeing how you asked, "what good bands or artists are you bored with?", that means I can leave the Face Painters in Satan's Service out of this one for once.

Pixies. I like them, but don't love them and I get annoyed by the pretentious Indie folks who talk about them like they're the Indie Beatles.

reply

The Pixies are no Motley Crue and I know how much you love The Crue brother🤘

Carry on.

reply

If we're including bands we hate and we're sick of, then my list goes:

KISS
Motley Crue
Poison
Linkin Park
Van Halen
The Beach Boys
KISS
Nickelback
Creed
KISS
Disturbed
Metallica
KISS

There are others that I'm missing.

reply

I agree on Nickelback and Creed but I’m pretty sure we will never speak again.

Metallica!?! What is wrong with you?

reply

Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Motorhead

Metallica.

reply

Sshhh.
We are no longer speaking!

reply

But I can't quit you.

reply

Wanna go camping😆?

reply

But what will our wives say?

reply

Did you like any of your list to start with?

reply

As I said, I like Pixies, but don't love them.

reply

In fact, it's Mötley Crüe.
Just saying. 🤘🏽 😉

reply

Coldplay
Muse
Creed
Foo Fighter

reply

One great thing about the modern era is that I never ever have to hear any music I don't love without spending a ton on records.

reply

Queen. They really do have quite a few good songs despite my dislike for Freddie's voice, but I've downloaded none of them just because my mother overplayed them in my youth.

reply

Not much chance of hearing any new material from them but they get overplayed in ads in the UK alot and in films too.
