Uncomfortable SituationsšŸ™„

What are your most uncomfortable social situations?

I went to meet my Wifeā€™s parents TWICE to ask for her hand in marriageā€¦The first time they never showed up for my dinner party but I was HOT to marry this gal so a few days later I drove out and met them at their ā€˜fancyā€™ tennis clubā€¦they were a bit wasted so I let it go then as wellā€¦After a week or two we had a brunch at Dadā€™s home and I offered the deal. Pop accepted!
18 years happily married, Pop-Dukes loves mešŸ‘

Discomfort in social settings is pretty normal I suppose, maybe itā€™s best to ā€˜go all inā€™ lol.

When I'm chillin' with my homies and we're talkin' rock music and one of them admits to being a KISS fan and we have to decide which one of us is telling him he has hearing problems.

reply

KISS is awesome!
Get out of my thread you oddball.

In all seriousness, there was one time I was talking to a friend of mine whose brother was dying of cancer (he's died since). So we were talking hockey as normal Canadians do, and he mentioned a good player on a team who was a bit of a hothead. So when he mentioned how good of a player he was, I said "yeah, but he can be a cancer to his team" (referring to him being a hothead) and my friend gave me a look like he was so offended. I mean, I wasn't thinking of his brother and saying things are "a cancer" is quite common, but it looked like he was about to give me a right hook.

An unfortunate turn of phrase is a common mishap, donā€™t dwell on it too much Brother, we all do that sort of thing.

Back in my kiddie school days my Pal Billy got into an argument over something very silly and ā€˜kiddishā€™ and Billy called some kid a ā€˜spastic retard.ā€™
That boy ran away crying and we had no idea why.
Turns out the kid had a a cerebral palsy victim in the family, God Bless them, the ā€˜spastic retardā€™ comment was just too much. Billy meant no real harm, we were all just stupid little kidsā€¦Words CAN cut:/

reply

I wonder how someone who knows someone with dwarfism would feel about something dwarfing in comparison.

reply

Paper can cut as well :P

reply

Yes, and oddly enough itā€™s really painful!

reply

WTF are you smoking? KISS rocks

reply

Nah. With them I don't want to rock and roll all night and I certainly don't want to party everyday with them either.

reply

Getting caught masturbating. All the shouts of "Get off the stage!" still haunt me! šŸ„’

Attending the wedding of an ex-girlfriend. Talk about awkward.

reply

Weddings! Awkward is the word. My Sister In Law married a guy some years ago (that story has a few unfortunate twists but whateverā€¦) and I was in ā€˜The Groomā€™s Partyā€™ lol, what a weird thing it is to be a ā€˜Groomsman,ā€™ as if Iā€™m someone very special šŸ˜†Iā€™ve been roped into this wedding party nonsense a bunch of times, quite frankly itā€™s VERY annoying.

I was sitting alone at the bar, of course, and the former boyfriend of my newly married Sister In Law approached me and said he was going to tell her new Husband what a naughty slut she was in bed and share stories about her former boyfriends.

I urged him to keep shut and not ruin the party. He kept quiet, heā€™s lucky too because my soon to be ex- Brother in law is a really violent dude.

Some people make situations very awkward!

reply

why would anyone do this?

reply

It was a complicated situation. It involved a circle of friends that had its origins in high school. At one time I had dated the sister of one of the guys in the group. When she eventually got married, everyone in the group (including me) was invited to the wedding.

The relationship had ended amicably, so there were no hard feelings involved, but it was still extremely awkward.

reply

I attended my ex's wedding with my wife. The two of them have been friends since I introduced them. Her husband was a completely different matter. Since this was first time, I had met him, I tried to introduce myself a few times. By the end of the night, he had only said five words to me "Good night. Thanks for coming"

Work meetings where they do that around the table thing and make you give your opinion on something you couldnā€™t give a ratā€™s about. Iā€™m always internally like ā€œplease just skip meā€ and usually just paraphrase something someone else has already said. If Iā€™ve got something to say Iā€™ll say itā€¦ sheesh!

Work meetings in general are 90% a waste of time. Too much talk, not enough action! I once worked for a company who would call meetings over the most trivial matters, it was maddening! Send a fucking email already!!

reply

Oh man, donā€™t I know it.
Iā€™m in a union and employed by NYC so I canā€™t complain too much but we have two or three work meetings a week. The Boss vents at us all, then we meet in small groups and itā€™s all a big charade!

What a waste of everyoneā€™s time!

reply

A possible solution to this is to make everyone stand during the meeting. Of course, this doesn't work if the person in charge of the meeting likes to hear themselves talk. I'm a big fan of emails. Meetings should have a purpose and an agenda that the moderator sticks to.

HAVING TO TAKE A SHIT IN JAIL.

Getting caught was your uncomfortable mistakešŸ˜„

reply

reply

reply

I'm guessing you were caught with the marijuanas.

reply

NO...THE OFFICIAL CHARGES THAT WERE NEVER FILED WERE...EMBEZZLEMENT,GRAND THEFT,GRAND LARCENY, AND YES...POSSESSION,INTENT TO SELL AND POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER...BUT I DID NOT START SMOKING MYSELF UNTIL YEARS AFTER MY ARREST...MY SMOKING HAS BEEN SUPER HELPFUL IN CURBING MY CRIMINAL URGES HOWEVER...SO MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE STARTED SOONER...

reply

I get the possession with intent stuff, but where did the theft, embezzlement and larceny charges come from?

reply

I WAS INVOLVED WITH/SPEARHEADED SOME UNDER THE COUNTER BUSINESSES THROUGH LEGITAMITE JOBS...OFF THE MENU SALES,UNDER THE COUNTER,THROUGH THE BACK DOOR,WHATEVER WORKED.

reply

Damn, those are some heavy charges. Did you have a good lawyer or was it just luck?

reply

LUCK/LACK OF EVIDENCE.

reply

I think they put something in the food that causes constipation also. MREs do the same.

reply

The walk of shame home. Especially when you can't find your clothes and have to hike it in the nude.

reply

I feel like ā€˜The Walk Of Shameā€™ only occurs for women, a young dude walking out of an apartment in the morning would likely yell ā€˜Fucking hell right, I just screwed the tits off of that Lady you see in the elevator everyday!ā€™

reply

That's not what they yell when you can't find your drawers.

reply

I am a Gentleman Sir, Iā€™m never more than a few yards from my undies!

reply

YOU NEVER RAN ACROSS CAMPUS USING A TRASH CAN LID AND A PIZZA BOX TO COVER YOUR AREAS?

reply

No, I was super broke and a total joke during College. I never had the ā€˜frat house, wild party, cool Bro experiencesā€¦ā€™

I went mostly to Community College night classes after raking leaves, chopping wood, painting sheds or shoveling snow all day.

I received a small scholarship and took out loans on the restā€¦the tuition really added up Amigo, it took about ten years to pay it all off!

reply

They did the 'walk of shame' to the High Sept before Cercei.

reply

My OBGYN delivered his ex-girlfriend's baby. I guess it didn't bother either of them or her husband, but seemed a little strange to me.

reply

Yikes!
That is pretty awkward šŸ˜„

reply

Years ago I managed a small print shop. A young lady came in to make a bunch of photocopies. She looked pregnant so I asked her when is her baby due. She gave me some serious stink eye then told me she wasn't pregnant. Oops! That was a very uncomfortable situation.

reply

Omg!
Iā€™d call you a stupid fool but I said the exact same thing to a small, chubby woman oncešŸ˜‘Most awkward moment ever probablyā€¦probably lol

reply

Don't feel bad, it's happened to everybody. Many fatties look pregnant. It's their own fault.
