Movies or series where rock 'n roll saves the day

I'm watching the season 4 finale of Stranger Things and there's a part where one of the characters uses an electric guitar to lure some creatures to him. Even though I don't listen to rock this has me grinning with glee because it's both ridiculous and cool.

Are there any other movies or series where rock 'n roll saves the day?

For example, in Star Trek Beyond (2016) the Enterprise blasts some loud heavy rock to disorient a swarm of destructive drones, IIRC. And I don't remember fully, but didn't The Walking Dead do something similar, using rock over a PA system to drive a horde of zombies to Neagan's headquarters?

This was really bad even for a TV movie.

Like 2/10 bad.

Exactly!

Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure

The Wyld Stallions bring about the end of all wars with the sheer awesomeness of their music 😃

No, that was the sequel, the marvelous "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey"!

Lovely movie, uniquely hilarious and with a finale that actually carries off the rock-saves-the-world thing, way better than the first movie.

aha!

But then it is retconned in Bill and Ted Face the Music. Why did they make that crapfest?

reply

IT WAS GOOD..THEY MADE IT FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN ENJOY A FILM WITHOUT GETTING ALL CRANKY ABOUT GIRLS AND STUFF.

reply

Nothing to do with getting cranky about girls everything to do with making an unnecessary sequel that retcons a good ending just to make another one. Why couldn't they continue the story after the events in Bogus Journey? They already came up with the song that supposedly creates peace on Earth, etc. So why make them losers again?

I LIKED IT A LOT...AS IS.

I don’t think I saw that one, I’ve been meaning to just for old times’ sake.
