They’ve started blowing up their tiny little peckers out there!

I’ve got a sweet, nervous little dog that gets really freaked out by these idiots blowing up the woods…my innocent, poor little girl is curled up under my Chevy…If I brought two of my shotguns to that asshole’s patio and lit that fucker up would I be wrong? I’d likely get charged. Lay off my sweet doggie assholes. She had a tough life, she’s a sweet little Girl and an adoption…And I love her.

People are fucking idiots, fireworks scare Dogs you stupid monkeys.

reply

Early 4th of july, or Canada day?

reply

I keep my pets indoors on
the 4th of July, I expect idiots to make explosions go off then. I just don’t care for it daily, and certainly not so early, my pretty little black girl just jumped off the garage floor and ran under my truck a few minutes ago. I care a great deal about this little black doggie of mine. No joke.

If I ran into the neighbor’s yard with my .35 deer rifle and opened fire I’d be out of line..?

I’m not aiming at anyone, I’m just blasting holes in your patio furniture and making a bunch of goddam noise like the rest of these shitheads.

Leave my dog alone, she likes classic rock and old country music and she’s MY girl, you noisy assholes.

reply

Wow so NYers are really idiots,(Shogun you have immunity) setting off fireworks for the 4th because its Friday, and the 4th conflicts with their "work". :)

reply

It sounds like Iraq out here in the garage, I had to tuck my sweet little doggie away inside on the couch, the noise was freaking her out, she’s a rescue animal and she’s not half as tough as she thinks she is…We love this fuzzy little one and let her act like The Queen Of The Hill:)

I’m sorry to admit that I’m the Dad that said ‘NO’ to getting a dog and as soon as we got her she became my constant companion.
She’s really cuddly and sweet.
I love this stupid dog!

I have a bunch of fine neighbors and I genuinely dig them but there are a few hillbillies up here in the woods. I’m really deep in the woods!
They are firing off the
Cannons tonight:(

My wife is ill and sleeping, my kids are upstairs asleep too, I put my sweet doggie on the couch…I’m just out here in the garage listening to Willie Nelson and shit blowing up around the wood lots and drinking.

Cheers 🍺🍺

reply

They are still blasting stuff out here.

I’m turning up the Willie Nelson😄

Looking at Hownos' post, what is Canada day.

reply

July 1 is Canada Day.

reply

Whats its significance? What does it stand for?

reply

Freedom damn it!

reply

I didn't want to say this, but for a country that prides itself on individuality, Canada day seems like a copy of the 4th of July....And I'm not even going to touch Canadian Thanksgiving!

reply

Yeah, but we do it better.

reply

and at the proper time.

Fireworks scare dogs? Well they scare people too.

I’m one of those awful sorts that will always side with my sweet little doggie, people can piss off lol!

Once or twice a week I have a half hour to take a nap and when this little goofy pup curls up with me it’s just such a fine feeling.

I love this silly little Girl, I never wanted her, my wife and children did but somehow she and I grew to be fast friends.

I spend every spare minute with my little black girl:)

reply

Amen. They used to scare our dog when I was a kid. She would hide under my bed,
the poor thing.

😎

reply

Sorry to hear that Amigo. These dogs are really wonderful beasts, I never wanted my little black girl but now we spend every spare minute together. I spend a good deal of every day hugging her, chucking frisbees across the lawn, she has three ropes she loves to
Play tug of war with.

I never wanted a dog, then I got a dog…my wife and kids insisted.

I’ll never not have a dog ever again, it’s pure Love:)

reply

Dogs are pure love. Cats are love of a different sort. I never wanted a cat, but I ended up with two of them.
Love'em though.

😎 🐶 😺 😺

reply

Unfortunately my daughter is very allergic to cats. They are very good pets, I’ve had quite a few and I’d certainly keep a couple of them around my home, they are violently territorial and keep their area pest-free…But my daughter swells up and gets short of breath around cats so we just keep a small dog and a bunch of glue traps for any ‘invaders.’

reply

Sorry to hear about your daughter's allergy. My nephew's oldest daughter is allergic to any kind of nuts.
The edible ones, not you or me.

😁

reply

Ha, we sure are a couple of nutty guys!

Thanks, yeah, it happens.

Pollen and Mold allergies give me a kick in the head so I do feel for my girl. Allergies suck buddy!

reply

No way around it. Have you looked into the doggie treats that calm? A few friends of mine simply get their dog so high that they fall asleep. One of the pooches doesn't even like getting high but races to the tray of joints expectantly when the fireworks start. (The other one is a regular inhaler)

reply

Yes, it's going to be a noisy weekend. And probably for days afterward.

reply

As a fellow dog lover, I can understand your frustration, but fireworks are an integral part of the 4th of July festivities for a lot of people. Mine thankfully was never affected, but if he was, I wouldn't be against getting some mild doggy sedatives from the vet to keep him calm over the long weekend.

reply

I’ll certainly keep my Little Lady indoors for a couple of days, And I agree, fireworks are pretty cool. I just think it’s a bit early. That sounded like a landmine that sent my little fuzzy girl jumping under my truck. Another HUGE blast just went off, I have put my little fluffy
girl inside the house.

It’s too early to blow up the neighborhood and terrify the Dogs.

reply

Sorry man. I totally understand. Even with fireworks illegal in my State, they are plentiful this time of year.

Thinking outside the box, any family in a quieter neighborhood who might take her for a few days?

reply

I’m not wild about the fireworks. I used to love them when I was much younger but maybe they are not so great for cats and dogs?

My little furry girl gets thrown into a panic when she hears fireworks. She’s my little silly girl and we love each other😄you should see our naps…but she goes to lie on the floor after 10 minutes, just to prove her point lol, she’s a rescue dog and she’s a bit damaged and angry…She cannot stand company, anyone on her turf is getting yapped and nipped at lol

I’m taking my wife and kids to Ocean City next weekend, my sister in law will watch the house and doggie👍

reply

Yeah, mine are sensitive to fireworks as well. In most cases the best you can do is comfort them until the scary boom-boom noises go away.

reply

Yeah, I’ll keep my little fuzzball inside on the 4th, my little girl is very anxious on a quiet day lol, she’s a real nervous wreck every other day of the year too, she doesn’t need explosions 😆….

Funny, you rescue these abandoned, abused and forgotten dogs, they take over your life and you just don’t mind!

I found a real good friend when I took this silly little fuzzy black girl into my home.
She’s a fine doggie.

I love her.

reply

You're a nice guy, Shoges.

reply

Thank you a lot man, that’s really kind of you.

I really love dogs, they are so sweet and needy and they only want Love and treats and cuddles.

In return they will guard your home, your family and your property and violently launch themselves after ANY guy threatening their master or his kin. It’s good to have a dog or two around👍

reply

Yep, they're very easy to love. They become your best friend.

reply

I have spent the last 10 months learning this lesson. My little pest is my best friend❤️She’s always underfoot, begging for food, jumping in the car when I get home from work…

I sometimes think I may get my girl a companion soon. You should see these pooches that just want to snag a family at the local shelters.

I do love dogs. I wish I had a thousand acres and a million dollars. Dogs are sweet.

reply

I HAVE THE SAME SITUATION...GOT MY DAUGHTER A JACKHUAHUA WHEN SHE STARTED KINDERGARTEN...THAT DOG IMMEDIATELY BONDED WITH ME AND BECAME MY SECOND DAUGHTER...LITTLE BANDIT...SO WE WENT BACK AND GOT BANDIT'S SISTER FOR MY DAUGHTER...SHE IMMEDIATELY BONDED TO BANDIT AND I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH TWO TINY GIRLS EVER SINCE...THEY ARE ALWAYS WITH ME...EVERY CAR RIDE,EVERY MOVIE,THEY HAVE TAKEN AND PICKED UP MY DAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL EVERY SINGLE DAY SINCE KINDERGARTEN(SHE STARTS HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR)...I RECENTLY REALIZED I AM MORE OF A CAT GUY...BUT I LOVE DOGS VERY MUCH,ESPECIALLY MY BANDIT & SHERIFF.

reply

I love my little girl, shes hard to sleep with:/ and she’s not very polite. She won’t often sleep with me during a nap and you should see how she acts like an angry bully when other dogs or strangers come around…My little girl is 25 pounds and she is NO nonsense.

I love her though. She’s a little nerd😁

She ain’t big but she controls this territory.

She loves me and I love her but the little maniac bites me constantly!

Anyway, I love this silly tiny black doggie.

I respect your love for cats and dogs. That is a fine
Quality in a man. I respect that a great deal✌️

ETA: sorry for this late edit but your great relationship with your daughter is really sweet. My daughter is 15 now, she’s my sweetheart. We must protect these fine young Ladies.

reply

I wish I could have a dog, but my yard isn't fenced in, so I have cats - who also hate fireworks. I have a feral that I have taken care of for the past 7 years who I probably won't see until Tuesday and my indoor cat will hide under the sofa when they start going off.

reply

My yard isn’t fenced in either but I bought an ‘invisible fence’ on Amazon, it was pretty cheap and it keeps my girl from going near the road. It’s a small unit that I keep on the coffee table and and my little Leia wears a special collar that buzzes when she gets too far from the house. She is safe and has plenty of room to roam.

reply

Long ago, we had a husky and we tried an invisible fence, but they like to run and he just bolted through it. It might work fine on a smaller dog, but I hope to downsize in a few years and that might put a damper on any dog, unless I get a house and not a condo.

reply

A husky is a pretty powerful dog, I could see it getting away from the yard, fences notwithstanding. They are all muscle and fur.

My little Lady is only about 25 pounds, she’s an Aussie Mini-Shepherd…she sure acts tough but she’s just a cute little goofball.

The good woman at the rescue place warned me that my Leia was neglected and she would be a bit skittish and probably a runner, so I put a GPS tracker and a buzzer collar on this little one.
