PRIDE MONTH DISGUSTS ME!

Especially when its SHOVED down the throats of the people!

From Joe Biden and the White House posting about it, to corporate America changing the logos of its companies to go rainbow, you can't escape it.

And that in itself is hateful to Christian conservatives.

We have the right not to be castigated for holding to our traditional morals regarding sex and sexuality; we live in a pluralistic society, where people can live their lives as they wish.

But as the saying goes 'your right to swing your arm extends as far as my nose'.

We find gay sex an abomination in the sight of God.

And yet we have to put up with what is unholy and abominable, being shoved in our faces.

In this way, we are being persecuted. And discriminated against.

And why a whole month?

There's one day for father's day, one day for mother's day, one day for memorial day: but these deviants get a whole month!

I'm glad I don't live in the USA where its non-stop and everywhere.

Its seeping into Australia, like a bad smell that came over from the states, but its not all pervasive here, thank God.

America: you need to put your manners back in!

I'm also not a fan of Pride Month. Just earlier, I was using the TVTime app only to encounter a large notification (that I had to click, it wouldn't let me exit out of it) where they were showcasing all the gay movies and TV shows they'd highlighted for the occasion. To which I just rolled my eyes, clicked, then backed up to what I was actually wanting to see.

Granted, I was on board with it for a long time as it seemed to me that, generally, homosexuals were being demonized and I wasn't a fan of them having difficulty getting married if they wished. So any further normalization of them seemed like a good thing. Ditto for their normalization in film and television.

That was then, however. Now, though, it most certainly has been mostly normalized. Gay marriage is legal, homosexuality is represented (statistically overly represented) on every film and television series. And even in a small, southern, bible-belt town like the one I'm from, if one were to start speaking hatefully about homosexuals in public the vast majority of people around them would turn on them.

The narrative isn't what it was in the 60s anymore. Or even in the 80s. "No religion" is now America's fastest-growing religion. Homosexuals and minorities have won their fights.

The problem is, IMO, that they continue to behave as if they haven't. They enjoy the fight. They enjoy feeling like David battling the Goliath. They don't seem to realize that they, now, are Goliath. And it's just a bit annoying.

That said, people are free to be annoying w/ their opinions. It's no more an infringement on your rights than it is for me to have to look at crosses and billboards about Christ whenever I (an atheist who sees Christianity as a cult) drive down the street.

I understand not personally liking it. But they're not doing anything wrong any more than comedians telling offensive jokes are doing anything wrong. When we're offended, that's our problem. Not the rest of societies.

"they're not doing anything wrong"

Other than shoving their sexuality down everyone's throats, banning terms like 'boy and girl, man and woman' and seeking to cancel anyone who doesn't jump on their pride float!

They are an angry, and noisy group of malcontents who should just shut the hell up!

And corporations promoting pride month are promoting SIN and EVIL, according to my Christian faith.

Therefore they are discriminating against Christians, and promoting the devil's work.

You should have ended there... as your opinion is annoying as well

I'm sure many agree with you. But oh well.

wow , you just thought you'd come out and say that in front of everyone huh?
what a standup guy, just says what he thinks . how brave .

I know - why dont you get that printed on a T-shirt , then everyone you see in the street will know your opinion on the matter , and you wont have to keep voicing it .
The added bonus being you wont have that damned internet anonymity so you'll get full credit for your insights.

I might just do that!

Then I guess you will support making Christian celebrations like Easter or Christmas something completely private that it's not shoved in the faces of others, wouldn't you?

reply

No, because that is Holy; do not confuse what is Holy with what is UnHoly; with what is Sacred with what is an Abomination

reply

That's holy for you. Others don't give a shit about what you consider holy.

You want others to to shove their agenda in your face? That's fine, but do the same and don't shove yours.

Western Civilization is a Christian civilization; our laws, customs and holidays are based around it.

Don't like it? Move to IRAN!

reply

Western Civilization existed before Christians. It started in Greece and Rome. Then, you had Christians, the fall of Rome and the Dark Ages. Thank you very much for that.

Western Civilization is a civilization in spite of Christians.

My people lived in Europe before the Celts, before the Neolithic migrations. And way before the Christians. Don't like it? Move to Iran. You'd be probably happy there. Lots of religious conservative homophobic like you. After all, you take a conservative Christian, you add a turban or a burka, and you have a Muslim.

reply

The ancient world was full of pedos; boys and men; you'd love it!

reply

Fortunately, you Christians came to save us from it, destroy Roman and Greek civilization and bring the Dark Ages, not to say you inspired Mohammed to create the Islam. Oh, thank you so much for all that!!

This has been a truly awful period of US history and I wish I were around to see how damningly it's judged.
These rump followers are the John Wilkes Booth / Lee Harvey Oswalds of today.
