Also keep in mind that plenty of Christian conservatives are closeted homosexuals. By slinging this poorly thought out canned rhetoric, you suggest that being "out and proud" gay flies in the face of the insecure, self-hating ideology of a so-called "Christian conservative" who seeks nothing more to hate and disparage demographics that do not align with his or her judicious beliefs - the ones fed by an increasingly insular online echo chamber, anyway.

Jesus Christ would behave far more compassionately. Look in the mirror, try to surmount your internal conflict, and learn to be more accepting of others. You will be a better person for it.

I have no problem with gays, lesbians, trans or whatever other group I’m forgetting to mention. We can give them a month to do their celebrating. It doesn’t cost the rest of us a dime and it makes them feel accepted, there are no losers in this arrangement.

We don’t want one and we don’t need one. Pride month promotes acceptance of a group of people that were physically assaulted, verbally abused, suffered high rates of suicidal thoughts and were even murdered in the past for simply going about their lives.

If it makes you feel better, Connie, they just get one month. All months of the year are for the rest of us. And we never needed a parade to celebrate who we slept with or what we believed in. That is a true sign of strength, when you have no need to brag about it loudly to everyone, or use it as a crutch to cover up your shortcomings.

They can rail at us, they can call us names, accuse us of being cruel and unfair to them, accuse us of bigotry that supposedly destroyed their lives, ruin our jobs, send us to jail because of their hurt feelings; but it's not gonna change the fact that while we will always outnumber them, with good reason, and we can survive things they cannot even imagine. They desperately need us to survive, because without the rest of us, they would die out; but we will always be able to survive without them. Remember that.

I just don't understand how they cry the "want to be accepted like anyone else" but (some) refuse to just live their lives like anyone else. Meaning no need to make sexuality an issue. Especially if it is not about sexuality.

Good example: Parades. St. Patrick's Day parade was never about sexuality. You never saw banners "Straight Irish Americans." Why do they need to display their sexuality? Just march as Irish Americans like the rest of the people are doing. Why do they need to make their sexuality an issue?

Part of the issue is the fact that until the 20th century, the majority of western society had no interest in accepting such a way of life, nor did they have time for such BS. Anyone who came out before the 2000s basically had their lives destroyed, and that memory is still fresh in their minds, despite all the changes society made to accommodate them in the past 15 years.

That, and much of what they have done is not about "equality" or "love." It's about power, and getting special treatment, similar to the push to give money reparations to black people because some of their ancestors were enslaved 150 years ago. This entire agenda they follow is about revenge too, a way to rub it in the faces of the people who refused to accept them as part of society for the longest time, a way to say "Hah-hah! Look at us! We won! We're better than you now! We can do whatever we want in broad daylight or on tv, and there's nothing you can do about it!" They claim they aren't after our kids, but after what we've seen happening in the public schools since 2015, their actions say otherwise. There's a reason we used to not allow such people to be teachers in our schools, because we didn't want them doing the things they are doing now; which is recruiting unsuspecting kids into becoming more of them.
