What film do you think has the best cast of all time?

What film or films do you think have the greatest collection of star power ever assembled in one film?

I just watched Oliver Stone’s JFK for the first time in quite a while, and it’s absolutely loaded with huge stars. I can’t think of a film that has even close to that much A list talent in one movie. Even legendary stars like Walter Matthau just showing up for quick cameos. Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Pesci, Bacon, Oldman, Jack Lemmon, Sissy Spacek, John Candy, Donald Sutherland, Ed Asner…just absolutely stacked!

The Towering Inferno also comes to mind for me as a cast loaded with acting titans and huge stars.

Any others come to mind?

The Longest Day
A Bridge Too Far
The Great Escape
How The West Was Won
Grand Hotel
The Women (1939)
Some films, like Around The World In 80 Days (1956), technically have a great cast but it's just a gimmick really.

I thought about mentioning The Longest Day, and A Bridge Too Far is stacked as well.

The Great Escape made me think of another one I missed, which is The Dirty Dozen. Tons of big names in that one.

Totally agree on the Towering Inferno

I would also say
A Bridge Too Far - James Caan, Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Robert Redford, Elliot Gould, Ryan O'Neal, Maximilian Schell

True Romance - Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Michael Rapaport, James Gandolfini, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brad Pitt.

1974's Murder on the Orient Express - Albert Finney, Ingrid Bergman, Sean Connery, Lauren Bacall, Vanessa Redgrave, Jacqueline Bisset, Wendy Hiller, John Gielgud, Michael York, Anthony Perkins, Martin Balsam, Richard Widmark, Jean-Pierre Cassel, and Rachel Roberts.

Not a film but a TV Mini-Series

Bleak House (2005)

This is an adaptation of the book by Charles Dickens so it has a huge cast and a few of them are big names like Gillian Anderson and Charles Dance but many of them wouldn't be known outside of Britain but they are all very, very good. This production is in my top five Period Dramas and I have seen a lot of them.
