the last major controversial film?

The Passion of the Christ (2004) is the one I think of.

reply

Certain people lost their minds over Brokeback Mountain in 2005, which I found in equal parts lame and hilarious.

reply

I think some contenders could be

The Human Centipede 2
Cuties
A Serbian Film

reply

I haven’t seen any of those.

reply

A Serbian Film is one of the most fucked up movies ever made. what makes it so bad is the high quality acting and production value really take u into the fucked up story more than any other exploitation film ever made

reply

I would agree on A Serbian Film. Cuties I would never watch.

reply

I actually thought Cuties was a good movie. I thought that the controversy was overblown by people who didn't watch the film. It touched on so many aspects that we face as women that start in our childhood, as well as touching on the clash of cultures. I found it less exploitative than a show like Dance Moms, or Toddlers and Tiaras.

reply

lmfao of course u thought there was nothing wrong with little girls twerking in suggestive manner u a libtard u guys love fucked up pedo shit like that. now that u guys legitimized all the other sexual degenerates next thing is to normalize pedos. that is progressives for you....

reply

Actually I am a female who used to dance and could relate to the sexualization of young girls both in the dance world and also the modeling world. I can also relate to the way men react to young girls because I experienced it my whole youth. Just because the twerking was in the movie didn't mean that it was presented in a way that was okay. But okay, keep calling anyone who has a different opinion than you a pedo. This has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. This has to do with the struggles of a young girl trying to fit in, and what actually fitting in meant for her.

reply

yeah all that bogus woman finding there own way storytelling was just a front to allow that pedo twerk sesh onto the airwaves for all the pedophilers to enjoy and see. they are trying to normalize this shit it is beyond fucked up. now if u aren't happy with tranny reading book to little kids u are a homophobe. well i was never a homophobe but now i am. the left has gone too far

reply

What the fuck are you going on about??? Seriously?

You are going on about a movie that I'm assuming you didn't see, and you are complaining that young girls were twerking in it and that it was just some ploy for pedos to enjoy it? Are you deflecting and acting angry because it turned you on or something?? I'm not asking this to insult you, I'm just really curious because your outrage is so over blown.

No one is trying to normalize it. That is the point. The audience was shocked, the girl realizes what she is doing, bursts into tears and leaves. That is something that many, many young girls go through. Immigrant or not. Trying to find where you fit in, rebelling from your parents, putting yourself in situations that aren't the best for you. I've seen worse on TLC, but you have no outrage for that? Where is your outrage for all the young men who ask for nudes online? Is that not worse than some twerking? I'm assuming you are not the parent to a daughter. It's scary out there. Cuties is not the scary part.

Cuties has nothing to do with a transgender person reading to a child.

reply

no the transgender shit was just the last crusade u libtards went out on and now this pedophiler acceptance shit is the next cursade u bozos are embarking on. also it is related because they are putting tranny infront of kids in my hometown which isnt even supposed to be a libtarded place. this is child abuse to expose little kids to gross fucked up shit like that. there is a war on the kiddos going on right now perpetrated by the radical left. the people that are responsible for this sick shit need to face justice

reply

Who is the fucking pedophile? Where are they? Who is accepting them? I fucking put one in jail, and I am so sick of all you assholes calling anyone who disagrees with you pedos. It's disgusting. Yes I am angry. I get called a pedo for pointing out racism. I get called a pedo for discussing a movie that did have a controversial topic with someone who hasn't even seen it, by fucking males who have no idea what it is like to lose your innocence at a young age by a man 45 years older than you and you weren't twerking, you weren't in skimpy clothes, and yet you think that that is what turns on pedophiles??? Fuck you. I am so sick of this shit and this place.

reply

okay maybe ur not a pedophiler but the people running netflix most def are

reply

that guy posts the same stuff on here no matter what the topic. don't let him get to you.

reply

Forget him.

reply

Don’t feed it.

reply

"No one is trying to normalize it."

Could not disagree more.

reply

cuties was a legitimately controversial film. it was talked about, debated, hated, defended, all that stuff.

not to start that whole thing up again, but i thought the controversy was silly and overblown. whatever i thought, it was definitely, undeniably a fuss.

reply

it was not overblown, the movie is soft core pedo fap material. it shouldnt even be allowed to be made let alone put onto the front page of the biggest propaganda machine hollyweird controls

reply

did you watch the film?

reply

not the whole thing i watched the beginning then got bored since it was kinda shit movie and fast forwarded to the controversial ending everyone was bitching about. did see some of the middle tho. was laughing at parts that were extra retard, it did have entertainment value just not what it was going for. there was that one scene when some poor maintenance guy catches the cuties and tells them they are in a restricted area then the cuties threaten him with rape accusations and he has this look on his face like "holy fucking shit i am so scared right now these little bitches just checkmated me". i was laughing out loud during that part since i thought it was so funny how netflix was teaching girls they could get out of lost criminal situations by saying they were diddled by the person catching them in the crime. it was pretty funny but really fucked up at the same time. the worst part of the film was the ending. they litterally had underage ass checks fly accross the whole shot taking like 50 percent of the screen at one point. it was worse than i thought it was gonna be from everyone bitching. it should have been banned not promoted on the biggest propaganda outlet in murica

reply

Cuties is the first that comes to mind. It's at least the one freshest in my mind. Definitely not in the same league as the other big controversial films

But it did cause quite a controversy. Causing an increased number of cancellations of Netflix's service. I remember reading that they were hemorrhaging subscriber numbers like craaazy. Losing like 800% of 'em at one point. At least that's what was being reported

Other Streaming services, especially Disney+, really benefiting from that controversy & Netflix's loss

reply

Losing like 800% of 'em at one point.

Controversial mathematics.

reply

I should've worded that better. More like Impossible maths. 😂

Netflix's subscriptions plummeted and cancellations increased by 800 per cent following the release of the controversial French film Cuties

That's the actual quote from the article

reply

Ahhh. Now I get it. Fair enough.

reply

The Interview (2014)
The Hunt (2020)

Both were released to VOD only due to backlash.

reply

the hunt was not worth the controversy. it has been done before.

reply

Is it worth watching? Just checked and its on HBO.

reply

a modern day twist on humans hunting humans. it's worth watching. 6/10

reply

Definitely worth watching. It's a fun flick.

reply

I'll check it out, probably tomorrow. The premise kind of reminds me of Predators (2010) with the hunting aspect.

reply

The Hunt was in theaters briefly but it was right before the shutdowns in the Spring of 2020.

reply

I think Universal made the final decision to pull the movie from theaters due to the controversy.

reply

No it was pulled from it’s original release date which was Fall of 2019 due to perceived political bias of the plot. It was pushed back to Spring in 2020 and it was released for about a week before theaters shutdown from Covid. Check the Wikipedia page.

reply

I was going to say Django Unchained (2012) but looking it up, maybe not as much as I thought.

reply

I’d say yes because Jamie Fox is a racist and he went on SNL and said he was happy to be in a movie to kill all white people.

reply

Joker

reply

Probably "Cuties" because of the Netflix movie poster. The movie itself was good.

reply

the movie ended with a Nicki Minaj style twerk session with underage girls. it was made by pedos for pedos

reply

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

reply

i only speak Murican not this british nonsense u are bladdering about

reply

Don't get pissy.

reply

im not pissy i just only speak the freedom dialect of Murican and have no idea what u are talkin about in that commie tongue of yours

reply

It's not my fault shit goes right over your head. Maybe read a book and try to broaden your horizons. You can only use ignorance as an excuse for so long.

reply

blaaaah blaaah blaaaah i like crumpits and tea and God save the queeen!!! that is all i am hearing.....

reply

Might be schizophrenia.

reply

The movie was made by a Sengalese-French Muslim woman.

It was part commentary about young French pre-teen girls oversexualized and twerking in school dance contests which she witnessed. Also, part autobiographical about the torment of the girl witnessing her mother's pain when her father takes a second wife. That lead her to reject her Muslim heritage and act out by joining the Cuties.

The real ending is...

Major Spoiler:
the girl quitting the Cuties and just being a kid again by jumping rope.

BTW, when this movie came out, two Frenchmen were acquitted of raping 11-year-old girls in two separate court cases because the girls "gave consent".

The irony is American outrage over dancing in a movie, but silence about two real rapes of children by adult men that went unpunished.

reply

child rapist shouldnt just be killed they should be tortured to death. just because there is some "nice" explanation at the end how the movie is against pedo shit doesnt excuse the soft core kiddie porno dance they inserted in there for their own sick pleasure

reply

Having sex with "consenting" 11-year-olds wasn't considered rape in France. Women had to protest in order to get statutory rape laws. Now, the age of consent is 15.

But, what about the real 11-year-old girls who are twerking on stage in school ? Or is it only wrong in a movie?

Mama June's 3-year-old granddaughter was twerking during a kiddie beauty pageant. No one is complaining about that and she won the pageant.

reply

yeah all that shit is fucked up i never said big fat mama june bug was a great role model. her kiddos was so fat it was practically child abuse

reply

Do you know that one of June's daughters was molested by her child molester boyfriend and she placed a second daughter in harm's way after he was released from prison 10 years later?

reply

yes i believe it mamma june bug is so fat and ugly she doesnt even resemble a human anymore, looks like a beast from hell. only a kid diddler would be fucked up enough to fuck that lady just so they can get access to children

reply

Nonsense. There is zero evidence or reason to think that the woman who made Cuties is a pedophile. Cuties was clearly not made for pedophiles as it doesn't have any child sex or nudity in it. There are several other films about children having sex or that have actual child nudity in them. Cuties is tame compared to them.

reply

those films u are describing can probably only be found on the dark web not on fucking netflix for the whole damn country to see. yea ofcourse this movie is tame compared to hardcore child porno. it is softcore child porno and has no place on netflix. they are corrupting this country by promoting this sick shit. that is the libturds next goal: normalize pedophilers the same way they normalized trannies and shit

reply

Cuties (2020) was very controversial. The director received death threats, there was a petition online to ban the movie and there were very heated arguments online with a lot of name calling. A woman I had been friends with for years blocked me on Facebook because I watched Cuties.

reply

that is an overreaction on her part.
