Big tech learning who you are. Good or bad?

They keep so much data on what you browse, buy, watch, and places you visit.

It's used just to sell you more stuff and market to you.

But does that still make you uncomfortable?

reply

Fucken oath. Scary shit.

reply

I'm not important enough to worry about.

reply

Agree.

I consider it intrusive and rude. What I purchase, and when I purchase it, is my own business.

Too many people still believe Facebook is merely a fun social networking site, when in reality it's a data-collection entity. They track every keystroke so they can create a demographic profile of users and lists of their interests. This is done so they can bombard users with specifically-tailored pop-up ads and spam e-mails.

I refuse to have anything to do with Facebook, Twitter and their ilk. They can butt out.

reply

I have a Facebook account but don't post anything on it.

reply

Yeah and they get me wrong with some ads they target me with, which is annoying. They're not that smart.
