Punching out a Mirror, Throwing a Glass, Smashing Everything off a Desk, Kicking Holes in the Wall ....

What do you think when you see this in a TV show or a movie.

I keep seeing these cliche scenes where some character loses their temper and has to break stuff that you know they are just going to have to clear up after the mess it all up.

I think this is weak acting that always bugs me. I'm watching Season 1 Episode 4 of Berlin Station, which has a few of these outbursts, but the funniest and most honest was when Leland Orser as Robert Kirsch has a tizzy because a prostitute he has engaged leaves rather than stays to have tea with him. He is sitting there and kicks the coffee table over and his whiskey glass goes flying. Cut to him cleaning up the room.

This is weak writing and lame acting. Don't people notice this or do think this is great acting?

People do this in real life. Wrong side of the bell curve.

I like the way Stanley Kowalski cleared the dishes.

No wonder he was a bum when he could'a been a contender. A guy making minimum wage with a wife and Bills breaking stuff and having to work to buy new ones ... what a loser.

Yes, it does seem a little silly.

a few years ago, for reasons i won't bore you with, i was super-pissed over some personal stuff, and randomly slammed my hand down on my bathroom sink and broke off the tiling on the side.

so i guess i'm a walking movie cliche.

i wish i had that on video so i could post it and let you all see how well i played my part.

I think thats good writing.

what do you mean acting?
What you described has nothing to do with acting, its the script / story / writing / plot
The "acting" (or quality of the acting) has nothing to do with it .
