Have you ever visited the capital of your country.

I have been to Ottawa twice. The parliament buildings are very nice. The war museum is also enlightening.

Lots of times. I lived in Maryland and worked in DC for about ten years. It was all private sector work, but for a while my office was close enough to the White House that, had the President any reason to want to have lunch with me, I could have walked over, had a leisurely meal with him, and made it back within the lunch hour. In 1993 we watched Clinton's inaugural parade from the building's roof.

I once got a Christmas card from a then-current US President. I won't say which, as this is not the Politics board. I've also got Christmas cards from a House member every year for about twenty years.

I’ve been to Ottawa. So pretty. Looked like London near the parliament buildings.

Yes, I’ve been to D.C. many times. Still haven’t toured everything there.

reply

No, I haven't. I'd like to go some day, mostly to visit the Smithsonian and a few other historic sites.

reply

Yes. Fun school trip.

I hope to visit DC again in a year or two.

Yes and no.
I have been in Madrid but not yet in Berlin.

I've been to Washington D.C. a couple of dozen times, mainly for work, but also did the tourist stuff - Smithsonian, Capitol tour, White House tour etc.

reply

I have, many times. Canberra isn’t the most exciting city in the world but it’s pleasant enough, in a Lego-land type of way.

reply
