Why does it seem many women don't like porn?

Or possibly they do secretly like it and don't like watching it with their men, or discussing it either for that matter. But Why? I suspect that those women don't like porn or have issues with watching it with others because the women in it do much more than they're willing to do. I would be willing to bet there are many more oral wimp's of women then there are of men. I have other theories besides those, but I want to hear other people's opinions.

It won’t be long now. Hey what did you do special for the daughter’s 13th birthday? She’s not a little girl now...she’s a young lady, but she’ll always be Daddy’s little girl. That’s one good thing your wife gave you.

That’s good. Too bad Covid had to be around on her special day, but the really special one is just around the corner...her “Sweet 16” birthday. Maybe things will be back to normal as far as Covid-19 and it’s pals are concerned. Oh, goodness me...I lost my virginity when I was 16!

The ending is disappointing.

Sweetie, they're not stimulated by visual stuff like the men....most of the time. You wanta turn them on? Give them smut to read! Women love using their imaginations more. And I'm not talking trashy romance novels (though some can be considered written porn, to a degree), I'm talking dirty, get-down-to-business stories.

I remember reading up on this very subject; why women don't like to watch porn as much as men. It is only partially due to how they are raised and their morals; they just aren't turned on as much by that as they are by the written word. Plus, it's also a matter of "Why watch the game when you can play the field yourself?"

Now don't get me wrong. Some of them do watch porn, just not as large a number as men.

There is also one problem with adult entertainment that all viewers have to contend with: it's a fantasy, and usually is very unrealistic compared to real sex. Part of the reason it becomes a problem with people are addicts is, they start having unrealistic expectations of what they're gonna get in bed with a real person.

And keep this in mind too: women's brains are wired differently from men in another area. A scientific study was done on thousands of men and women, and it was discovered that the moment your average young man hits puberty, he thinks about sex every 18 seconds. This spreads out very slowly over life, with elderly men thinking about it every five minutes instead. Women only think about sex a few times an hour, maybe even less than that. She'll think about it more if the subject is brought up, or if she has a significant other she is currently doing it with on a regular basis. And again, it depends on the woman too. Personalities can range from a very active individual, to a prude who has been suppressing their urges.

So it's not a simple subject you can write them off on, just like it's inaccurate to call all men horny bastards who only think about one thing. Everyone's different.

BRAVO, BRAVO. Well written sweetie. That's the nicest way a stranger has referred to me in a while. I never thought of it quite as deeply as you explained it in regards to literature and imagination. But seriously, my attitude towards just about everything in life that interests me is pretty much the same, if your gonna do it, go all out. Don't hold back. Never resist the unfamiliar, be willing to try or at least consider different possibilities. I hate when a woman just wants to lay there the whole time, or just wants to be in doggy position. If someone wants sex to be fun and interesting and not drab and routine, they're quite possibly too high on expectation? And are being unrealistic? Is that what you were insinuating?

[women] they just aren't turned on as much by that as they are by the written word

This is a common belief, but I'm not that sure it's true.

Women are turned on by different things than men. In general, a woman can be turned on by a man who is self-confident and charismatic, or by the feeling of social status and economic safety. If you wanna make porn for women, you need to convey those elements. The problem is that actors that can convey that, they're not gonna get into porn, neither are directors that can create those feelings in a movie. I can't imagine Spielberg or the Cohen brothers doing porn anytime soon.

On the other hand, if you wanna shoot some boobs and pussies (which is what porn for men requires), you only need an actress with enough IQ to take her clothes off, and a camera that can tell the difference between "rec" and "stop". Not exactly the highest qualifications.

I don't think that women are not turned on by porn. I think that what happens is that porn for women would require a degree of quality both in actors and directors that isn't available in the genre. Porn for women simply doesn't exist, and I don't mean some softcore feminist porn, but real porn for women.

A lot of women do like porn. They just like to maintain their privacy and don't talk about it as much as a lot of men do.
