The Muppet Show content warning:

This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. Those stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together

Disney Plus has decided to allow users to watch The Muppet Show (for now) as a sample of toxic whiteness so modern people are aware of what kind of racist and fascist entertainment was made in the hateful western past. Toxic racist fascist characters like Kermit the Frog or Miss Piggy can be a dangerous influence to young minds. Fortunately, once people are aware of it, including The Muppet Show won't be necessary and the show will be happily deleted and erased from history, so future generations are not intoxicated by its harmful toxicity ๐Ÿ™‚

All those Muppet roles...and I know him best as the guy who faints in Trading Places!

reply

Why does Kermit look like he's posing for an underwear ad?

Youโ€™re just green with envy! ๐Ÿ˜€

His muscles are ribbit af!

sometimes when i'm really trying to concentrate at work or while reading a book, i'll quietly say 'bort bort bort' to myself.

i don't think that's weird.

The Muppets promote rape culture. The way the puppeteers stick their hands up Miss Piggy's ass without concent is highly problematic. #CancelTheMuppets

Pigs in Space is haram, cancel them please...and Peppa Pig too!

I've always felt I was 'damaged' in some way, but couldn't put my finger on the cause. Now I know it was the Muppets. How could we have been so blind.

reply

SUE Di$ney for the damage$ they did to you!

IMPEACH the Di$ney president!

Swedish people must be so offended, especially the cooks!

reply

Sigh... This is getting more and more stupid.

Says the person who is offended by the โ€œmessageโ€ in Grease ๐Ÿ™„

reply

But did the muppets ever encourage a teenage girl to drop her whole personality and start smoking?
If not, I don't see why you compare "The Muppet Show" to the idiocy that is "Grease".
Furthermore, it is clearly aimed at an older audience than most things from Disney are anyway.
So there is no reason to show it to young children.

reply

Good, then we agree that these lame disclaimers shouldnโ€™t be put any old shows or movies, despite what problems people may have with the content ๐Ÿ™‚

Since things have changed a lot in only the last fifty years, maybe a disclaimer isn't a bad idea.
Because people are offended by things, which were considered harmless just a few decades ago.
However, I don't see why an old Disney movie or "The Muppet Show" shouldn't be okay for a kid to watch.

Disney sucks ass. So sick of this bullshit.

Disney is trying really hard to be the thought police. Thereโ€™s a little too much of that going around in general these days.

Itโ€™s a childrenโ€™s show of cloth puppets with human hands shoved up their asses, but it needs a disclaimer to protect us from the supposed cultural insensitivity. I canโ€™t face palm any harder than I already am at the ridiculousness of the world today.

Comedy is dead regardless. People are too spineless to handle it. Canโ€™t wait to see what Disney tells us to think and feel about other things in the future! ๐Ÿ™„

Amen! Fuck Disney!
