Is 100K an impressive annual salary these days?
Sure, in 1999 that may have been so. But I don't think it's really a big deal these days.

shareI wish I made 100K a year! Impressive to me!
shareIT WOULD BE FOR ME...I CURRENTLY MAKE...UM...LETS SEE...CARRY THE 2...TOTAL IT UP...UM...ROUGHLY ABOUT...LIKE...AROUND...ZERO.🤔
shareYes, as long as your credit is good you can mortgage a house and lease a pair of new, but not terribly fancy cars
If your wife or SO works you can probably build a pool as well, go for it!
Depends where in the country you live too. 100K can go a long way in a rural or small city.
shareGood point, I stand corrected
I got the hell out of the New York City area because the yards are tiny and a three bedroom with a one bay garage is 600k!
Forget that...The drive to work is a pain in the ass now but the neighbors are nice and the schools are way better
Wow. Those small homes with a garage door in the front and a small yard here go for about 175k.
If I had 600k to spend on a spread here it would be acreage, massive house, shop, barn and on the water and still have money left over. That’s crazy it’s so inflated in New York. I bet your glad you made the move.
The NYC area real estate is absurd, Very glad I moved
The schools are very nice up north of the city too
I would consider it pretty good. It's more than what the average person makes.
shareRight. It's "pretty good". It's not impressive as it once used to be.
shareIt really does depend on where you live and on average I wouldn't classify it as impressive, but I think it's the point where it becomes easier to not have to watch every penny, although it depends on how many people are being supported on that salary and how well you manage money.
shareThat is about minimum wage for anyone who wants to have an education, retirement, family, house, health care, vacations, etc. I'm talking urban centers and cities. You may be able to live for less in other places, but you will be paid commensurately less as well,
sharedidnt you post this a few months ago?
How much do you actually earn?
is this what your hoping for when you leave school?
are you earning 100k and not happy about it?
are you earning 100k and want more?
are you going to ask for a raise to 100k?
whats you motivation for asking?
Half that in the UK is a good salary.
It depends how much useless shit you want to buy to impress others I suppose 🤷♀️
That is true, except I think people buy things to satisfy a need but not necessarily to impress others - not denying that happens, but not always. I think about some of the totally stupid things I have bought during my life and how much that probably was and I'm somewhat fiscally conservative and frugal.
