Is 100K an impressive annual salary these days?

i am at 140 and my wife at 100. the government thinks we are wealthy.

i live on $15k a year and am perfectly comfortable. not to say that's what i make or what i've made in the past. those are my annual costs, +/- $500 or so.

by any standard, a $100k salary is a very good wage. in the us, if the stats i referenced are current, you'd be in the top 16% of earners. if you're making more than 84% of people, you're doing fine.

it's not 'fuck you, i can do anything i want' money.

but it's a lot of money by almost anyone's standard.

of course, it varies by region.
