Disney+ categorizes classic Disney movies as 'adult only'. Children won't be able to watch them.

Among them:
- Peter Pan
- Dumbo
- Lady and the Tramp
- The Jungle Book
- The Aristocats
- The Swiss Family Robinson

According to Disney, these movies are racist and children shouldn't watch them. It's much better for them to watch modern woke propaganda Disney movies instead!

This is not a joke. From now on, you will need an adult account to watch these movies and other similar ones in Disney+:

Ah, what a fun world. Kids can watch all types of porn online.... but they're not allowed to watch classic Disney movies anymore 😂

reply

I changed my daughters setting so she can continue to watch them. Apparently a lot of subscribers are doing the same

reply

This is basically turning off children settings. What if tomorrow they include real 'adult' movies?

Actually, this could be the strategy in the future if they don't want kids watching those movies. Disney+ could include some adult movies, and in case you changed the kid's age in the setting, you can't even complain because you're the one who allowed the kids to watch them.

Time to buy some DVD's.

reply

Even better:
Time to stop buying anything Disney.

reply

With Disney just download it for free... They take enough money out of us at Disney world.

reply

I don't like piracy. Piracy ruins legit creative producers. Piracy don't hurt Disney, it even makes them more popular. You don't like Disney, you simply don't buy / watch / care about Disney. Simple.

If anything, this will make the kids even MORE curious about these taboo films and they will pine to see them.

So I don't know about the wisdom of this decision.

Except of course for the free press it gives Disney.

reply

I just watched Swiss Family Robinson recently and can't quite figure out why its all of a suddenly its "Racist". Is it because the pirates are Asian and saying that might be stereotyping?

reply

Don't forget the good guys being all white swiss.

I mean, why there's not black swiss son? and a hispanic swiss son? what about the native american swiss charaters? why all the swiss characters are white?

The lack of diversity in the family is disturbing!! I understand they're protecting the children from something so disgusting.

reply

The whole family being white wouldn't be a problem but they would find a way to make the Swiss Family Robinson more Female than male as some type of gender flip to the story.

reply

It is hardly true that "The Jungle Book" is racist either.
Some people just won't believe that apes and monkeys in a cartoon can be just... apes and monkeys.

reply

IIRC there was controversy about the people riding the animals in that race, like the ostrich.

reply

...I think the kids had rifles too...

Knowing how to shoot a gun is a good life skill to learn as a kid/teenager.

But for the love of...
It is like people just keep going more and more insane!

Besides, I really don't like this sentence from the disclaimer:

These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now.

I'm sorry, but that is just complete bull.
Because if they had been wrong even back then, they wouldn't have put them in a Disney movie.

reply

I see insanity like this backfiring in their face in the future

I get Peter Pan (what made the red man red... well I guess all the Indian scenes...) and Aristocats (Tigger doing that Mickey Rooney bit.) The others I bless with my white privilege.
