This is actually a good remedy. I have a friend who normally has a very tidy, short cropped beard, which he shaved off recently, only to reveal an unexpected double chin (overall he's fairly slim and I never would have guessed). He joked about his beard hiding a multitude of sins and promptly grew it back.
