I can't see a EV car climbing around those mountain roads very good.

The new Hummer is electric. Like it or not, electric is the future.

reply

That is great that you have 100K to buy one,or a 10 year car loan. That dealership doesn't think it will sell enough EV Cadillacs to go and spend the money on special tools and training and other stuff to sell them.

reply

Well, adapt or perish.

reply

Agree - Lexus has figured it out.

reply

The price isn't the point - your question concerned electric vehicles being able to go off road and I mentioned the new Hummer is electric.

Cadillac's aren't necessarily cheap, so not sure why you are so concerned about price.

reply

They will double in price when they go electric. A mid size town Cadillac can not stay open with those prices. They would have to sell off half the place just to stay open with the few cars they do sell.

reply

What are you basing that on? I drive a Lexus UXh, (which I understand is not a mid size car), but for point of refernce - the sticker was just under $40k. The UXe is available in the UK for right around the same price.

reply

You aren't serious in wanting people to drive in the Appalacian Mountains in that little pedal car. People bought cars like Cadillac for years because they was real cars.

reply

LOL - Drive IN the Appalachian mountains or drive THROGH them on a road? I doubt seriously if you could drive that pink tanker off road.

And yes, my zippy little UXh will drive quite nicely on any paved mountain road and get 42mpg to boot.

reply

The hybrids are hard enough to work on.

reply

Please explain - I have a gas hybrid - so far no issues.

reply

In the 10 years you need to pay it you will. 5 years is max on the battery.

LANO, Texas (October 10, 2019) – Lexus announced today, it will extend its Hybrid Battery Warranty from 8 years / 100,000 miles to 10 years from date of first use/150,000 miles, whichever comes first – an extension that is valid for all new model year 2020 Lexus hybrid vehicles. All other HV components will retain coverage under the Hybrid System Warranty at 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Not losing any sleep over it.
