My parents made it a point to explain the facts about Santa Claus right before we started kindergarten. They figured some older kid on the playground would bring it up. They wanted us to be prepared and not be traumatized or made fun of.

That just proves how the innocence of childhood always knows the real truth. But as one get's older, they start to believe all the lies put out there by the devil like nonsense about spherical planets, or fish-frogs turning into squirrels, or energy equally mass multiplied by the speed of light squared. That last one is witchcraft, or a monkey's my uncle!
