I watched Jaws 2 last night!
Wasn’t that impressed sadly. I think the biggest flaw was showing too much of the shark. Would have been more effective to go with the less is more approach like Spielberg did with the original.
I've read that 'Bruce,' the mechanical shark they built kept breaking down and the result was less shark, more suspense

shareit's become a huge, huge favourite of mine. i was a bit underwhelmed by it on my first watch, but i gave it another go some time later & it lodged itself in my head and has never really left. it keeps rattling around my cranium, popping up in my thoughts at random times, and i love it when films have that effect on me.

martin's a great, weird little film. i don't quite love it enough to put it on a list, but it's a cool little film that always seems to get discovered and rediscovered.

shareWell they are just a genre to their own. There are several Gialli that I like more than the films I listed too.
My favorite cannibal move, which is barley one, is The Man From the Deep River (1972). If I had to classify it I would call it a jungle adventure / love story first though.
