What are the most overpaid/underpaid professions?

My friend is the senior staff accountant for a regional fast casual chain. He clears about $65k. He just found out one of his coworkers who is 5-6 years younger who works in social media marketing makes $120k.

All he does is basically post Facebook ads. My friend busts his ass crunching numbers all day and makes half of what this guy does, pretty ridiculous.

What are some other examples of this?

I’d say most professionals are fairly reasonably compensated; doctors, lawyers etc.

Many CEOs make way more than they probably should for the amount of work they do, but that horse has been beaten dead.

Teachers are probably the most underpaid for what they do.

Politicians are overpaid. I get sick of the selfishness from the vast majority of these people.

Janitors, correctional officers and teachers are underpaid.

Small business owners can make good living. Don't make as much as people think. People seem very ignorant how long it takes for them to be completely stable.

What really grinds my gears is,
In the UK politicians (the 650 members of parliament) get a decent salary of around £100k
plus they claim 1000s more on expenses for second homes near the capitol.

But thats not enough for them! They all have other "on the board " of other comapinies who think its good to have a politician on the board.
They've all got their snouts in the trough with side gigs all over the place.

Anyone who works in the sewer industry is underpaid! I don't know what their rate is but I could definitely not do that job at any stage of the process. And we would literally be in the shit without them 😷🤢

Some teachers are underpaid. A lot of them are way overpaid. Even my sister, who is a teacher herself, will say the same thing. She loves teaching. She lectures for a few hours each day and has the rest of the day mostly to herself. She gets holidays and weekends off and is paid throughout the summer. And great health benefits.

I’m interested to know more about your sister’s situation - does she think she gets overpaid, because she doesn’t work much but gets paid a lot?

For the few hours a day where she lectures, is she actually in the lectures teaching?
When does she research and write her lectures and do her marking, and any other work she needs to do around her classes to deliver them and support her students?
