Yes, it's great not having to shovel this month, so far. It's actually been warm enough that the sidewalks are clear and dry down to the pavement, no ice, etc. As for the shoveling itself, I remind myself it's good exercise, but yeah, tough on the back. Make that very tough.

The last storm we had, I shoveled both my sidewalk and driveway, and Mr & Mrs Neighbor's because they were out of town over the holidays. I didn't want it obvious that nobody was home, and I didn't want them to have to shovel their way in when they got home. Luckily, another neighbor did the public sidewalk with his snowblower (here, homeowners are responsible for clearing it). I made sure to pop over and thank him.

I saw that, too. But to be fair, they're not used to that much snow and they don't have the equipment to deal with it. But I bet a lot of folks had fun with it, especially the kids.
