US Congress open prayers with "Amen and Awomen"

Not only they didn't get rid of prayers, they extended it into a combined Christan Woke prayer.

I thought this was going to be a joke post.

reply

It's a joke post. It's not my fault they're doing it for real 😂

reply

The mentality of people is crazy. Sorry. I meant mentality and womentality.

reply

At least it gives some entertainment. Sorry. I meant entertainment and entertainwoment.

reply

Thank "god" you're joking. I was really worried for you there.

reply

So there're only two genders. Hmmm....

reply

3 genders. Male, female, Bruce Gender.

this is a silly controversy.

a non-troversy, if you like.

from linguist john mcwhorter:

"Amen and A-woman" is a long-lived Southern/black preacher signature. Rep. Cleaver meant it as a kind of witticism. He doesn't think AMEN actually has the word MEN in it; he wasn't being hyper-anything.

reply

I see.

If they're gonna include classic signatures, though, they should open the prayer with "Amen and A-woman and A-team", and then pick a cigar and add "I love it when a prayer comes together" 😂

reply

It's so long-lived that apparently no one has ever heard it uttered. I certainly haven't.

Wow, this was so witty I forgot to laugh.

reply

long lived among a certain group in a certain region, apparently.

reply

What a ridiculous argument! Anything you never heard of doesn't exist? You never know about something until you first hear of it. Is this your first time learning something new about the world?

reply

Read the first sentence.

reply

Ah, he's cleaver.

reply

stop praying??

reply

It's complete and utter woke nonsense.

Amen isn't even a gendered word lol

It means "so be it"

reply

The guy claims it was a lighthearted pun, but his response to his critics says he's not so lighthearted...
