StoneKeeper's Movie Guessing Game: I recommend THIS Movie #1540 - Who's Feeling Sporty? [StoneKeeper marks the calendar with EIGHT DAYS A WEEK]
I've been seeking out this popcorn classic far and wide for ages, so imagine my surprised delight when I saw this on the shelves at the VFA. Prepare for a fun discovery!
I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that connects your guess with the movie I have in mind.
For each guess, a connection is posted. Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, actor, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve Cabbage Patch Kids. Also, you can use Metascore color or rating, Rotten Tomatoes score, any award wins or nominations in common, same number of words in the title, plot keywords. Note: "Plot" in the IMDB advanced search links to "Plot Summary" on the film's page. "Keyword" in the advanced search links to "Plot Keyword" on the film's page.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints and 15 incorrect guesses the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 IMDB votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint. No documentaries.

Hint 4: Caged Heat (1974) - Comedy.
Hint 5: Heavy Traffic (1973) - USA/English.
Hint 6: Hexed (1993) - Golden Globe winner in the cast.
Hint 7: 29th Street (1991) - There's a number in the title.
Hint 8: Two Weeks (2006) - IMDB user rating is swimming in the 6s.
Our resident keeper of stones didn't have to do a whole lot of counting to get to Eight Days a Week (1997) in eight hints. What begins as a typical teen sex comedy gradually subverts its genre conventions to examine romantic relationships in a way that slyly reconciles expectations with reality. Keri Russell in particular shines as the object of affection who reveals deeper dimensions than what her character would lead one to expect. What I found particularly fascinating upon revisiting this film is how a lot of its story elements went on to reappear two years later in American Pie, but writer/director Michael Davis offers a more nuanced and earnest portrayal while still heaping on the raunchy humor. This gem fell through the cracks during its initial release, but it now stands as a heralded popcorn classic no matter the day.
