Well, the article is about having ED after surviving COVID, as a consequence. It seems pretty speculative though.

The time for hard action was 10-12 months ago! But it wasn't done then, so things are fucked now.

It's currently running unchecked through large parts of the world, including the less sensible parts of the US. And it's going to mutate, given that many hosts, hopefully not into something really lethal, as happened during the "Spanish Influenza" pandemic of 1918-1919. That virus became so lethal that some people dropped dead in the streets, or got on a bus looking fine and were dead when the bus came to the end of the line. And so much of this could have been prevented...
