How many 2020 films have you seen?

Going by imdb release date, I have seen 114 films released in 2020.

reply

GTFOH!

The War with Grandpa.

reply

You've only seen that one?

reply

I did also see Freaky, this weekend.

I guess I was just trying to say I didn't even know 111 movies came out in 2020.

reply

13 I think

reply

Did you have a favourite out of the ones you have seen?

reply

The Invisible Man

reply

Yeah, I saw that one in the theater before it closed and enjoyed it. It's an 8/10 for me.

reply

53

i believe i saw around 160 2019 releases, so that number seems pretty low, but considering the way things are, 53 doesn't seem that crazy to me.

i'm kinda amazed that you saw 111.

reply

What are your favourites of the ones you have seen?

My top 10:
Trial of the Chicago 7
I’m Thinking of Ending Things
The Way I See It
Disclosure
Soul
Never Rarely Sometimes Always
Cuties
Hamilton
The Prom
Tenet

Honourable mentions: Transhood, Dick Johnson is Dead, Happiest Season, Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies, Valley Girl, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, The Invisible Man

reply

it feels almost meaningless to do a top 10 when i've only seen 53 films, but here's what i liked the most

bacurau - this is the only 2020 film that i would call absolutely great in my books
i'm thinking of ending things
dogs don't wear pants
the deeper you dig
lingua franca
dick johnson is dead
fatman
host
cuties
straight up

those are all good films, but aside from bacurau, i feel like most of them probably wouldn't have made my top 10 in previous years. it's just been such a disjointed year for film, and i still have to catch up with a lot of the things i do want to see.

i'll probably get to chicago 7 on new years day. i'm going to get a disney plus subscription when wandavision gets added (in january i think), so i'll catch up with soul then.

reply

I haven't seen bacurau, dogs don't wear pants, the deeper you dig, lingua franca or straight up yet. I enjoyed Fatman and thought Host was pretty good, but neither would make my top 20.

reply

Around 10 or so.

reply

Do you have a favourite of the ones you have seen?

reply

I'm Thinking of Ending Things is my top 2020 movie so far.

reply

Cool. It is my second favourite of the year.

reply

Is there a way to quickly refer to a list?

reply

59. More than I thought the number would be. This year has been pretty bad. To be fair, more would have been released this year if not for the virus.

reply

Do you have any favourites of the ones you've seen?

reply

I'm Thinking of Ending Things was the best.

reply

Okay, not tonight, but I will have to follow-up on the movies that came out in 2020 to post a more accurate list of what I have watched.

I did watch, The Invisible Man (really enjoyed) and who know how man Nic Cage 2020 straight to DVD movies.

reply

Ummm... 2 😕

2020 has been a catch-up year for me. I’ve never been one to see all the new releases each year, but this year I’ve taken the opportunity to try and see a few more on my huge watch list.
