How many 2020 films have you seen?

Going by imdb release date, I have seen 114 films released in 2020.

I have watched so many movies during the pandemic at home https://wisepick.org/best-110v-mig-welder/

reply

I don’t think I’ve seen a single one.

reply

Are there any that you plan on or hope to see soon?

reply

I don’t think so. Oh wait! I did see the Hillbilly Elegy.

reply

What did you think of it?

reply

Well, I thought it was a well made film and the two leads were great, but in the end, it seemed a bit lackluster.

reply

I felt similar, I thought it was pretty good, better than the critics said, but not great. It would be a 7/10 from me.

reply

I thought it was very good. Reminded me of The Florida Project but with better production values.

My wife, while not a hillybilly, came from a troubled family too so I can somewhat relate. Sometimes I wonder too how she managed to survive relatively intact from all the bullshits her parents and her grandparents did.

Movie was totally dramatised and linear, without any artsy-artsy stuff, which make it as if it's a cheap TV movie. Surprising considering it supposed to be an Oscar bait film. 8/10.

reply

10-20, I know, I suck.

reply

It was a weird year, so don't feel too bad. Did you have a favourite of the ones you did see?

reply

According to my IMDb page: -
Tenet
Birds of Prey
Christmas Chroicles II
Onward
Bloodshot
Over the Moon
Doolittle
4 Kids and It
Jingle Jangle
New Mutants

reply

From Tenet - very good, to New Mutants - shite!

reply

Less than 10 since I have been binging on series instead.
I currently have 34 films in my "to watch queue" from 2020.

reply

Only 2, I think (Onward, and The Old Guard).
But I have binged at least 5 TV shows (Family Guy S18, Umbrella Academy S02, The Boys S02, Raised by Wolves, The Undoing).

reply

Only Tenet at the IMAX. I saw two other films at the IMAX this year but they weren’t 2020 releases. I don’t stream.
