Tubi's recently added

I was just going through the queue of recently added movies on Tubi, and 9 of the first 15 movies listed are expiring in less than 10 days. So either their algorithms are messed up for recently added, or these movies had really short licencing spans.

reply

They just make that shit up. I've seen them saying "Departing Soon" on movies for months or "Recently Added" for movies that were available for a long time prior. That's just marketing to get people to say "Hey! I better watch this now while I still can."

reply

They now have the little grey tag that says expiring in X days.

I just think it's funny. I looked at the next 5 movies on the list and I think it was 3 or 4 more that had the grey tags. I think it's funny

Tubi has been saying that Bully (2001) is leaving soon for almost an entire year now. But my question would be... why?? It's a great movie. And it's not like Tubi will have anything better to replace it with. Just keep it.

reply

I'm talking about with movies that aren't in the leaving soon, but actually have the grey tab that says how many days left. These movies aren't in the leaving soon, they are in the recently added.

reply

Tubi's pretty kick ass, IMHO!

reply

i am not seeing this

reply

I'm sure lists are based on the types of movies you watch, the list I'm looking at as recently added
Gravity
I.Frankenstein
Daredevil (ending in 8 days)
War (8 days)
Dead Presidents (8 days)
Kung Fu Panda (8 days)
Killer Next Door
Police Academy (8 days)
Max Payne (8 days)

Again, I don't have an issue with any of it. I just think it's really funny. Most of those are listed in the Leaving Soon! queue as well.

reply

First of all you have the American version. I see the same movies you listed but I don't see anything indicating that they are leaving in a number of days.

reply

If you click on the movie, American or Canadian it says leaving in x days to the left of the title, if it is leaving soon.
If said movie is in your list, or continue watching the grey bubble will be on the title card and you should see it without clicking on the movie.

I'm also not watching on a computer, I'm using the app.

Again, this isn't a big deal or a complaint of any kind. It was something I found funny, and it amused me.

reply

I checked both versions and this number of days thing is just not there. Gravity was recently added and I bet it will still be there next Xmas.

reply

How are you watching? It could be that my app has updated and yours hasn't yet

reply

I checked the app on firestick and I see what you are referring to. The expiring in days thing seems to be something new and is on the app only. It is not on the web browser. Might be some kind of error. I watched Dead Presidents recently. I will check and see if it drops off in 8 days and I will compare it to the web browser version.

i love tubi, but its recently added & leaving soon sections always seem to be a mess.

i just took a look in their recent adds, and saw that under the silver lake was in there. it was added in may of 2019! i know that because i logged it in my letterboxd account at the time.

it's a great resource, but it's often a bit tricky to sort out what's coming, going and available.

reply

I agree. Leaving soon doesn't seem to mean anything. The only thing I can think of is they hope more people will watch it so they see the commercials. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I've seen "newly added" stuff that's been on the service for months. Again, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

You might want to get the tubi application, then. There are very clear Recently Added and Leaving Soon sections on the main menu.

I LOVE tubi. I will pimp for tubi every chance I get.

i actually installed the app this past monday when i was having some laptop problems, but haven't looked at it since. i'll check it out when i've got a sec. thanks.

tubi is absolutely chock full of terrific finds - lots of great trash and some stuff that is just great. i use it way more than the sites i actually pay for.
