If hospitals become too full, then what?

If there were ever too many patients needing hospital treatment, where would they go if the hospital was at capacity? What other buildings would possibly suffice as a makeshift hospital? Could a hotel be a option? Because I'm reading in the news that many hospitals are near capacity and the ICU's are full.

I read an article that scared the hell out of me. Texas hospitals put you in the pit, when you are unsavable. Only nurses tend to you. Doctors won't go in.

I heard from a Safety guy that the CDC is about to change its guidelines from quarantine of 14 days to 7. That seems odd timing since we are currently in the peak of the pandemic.

I saw that, too. But it has also been said that hospitals can create more beds. The bigger problem is not enough nurses and healthcare workers to take care of patients. That's scary.
