I fear it will be a sad Christmas for the country

With so many traveling this Thanksgiving, many more will succumb to Covid before Christmas.

reply

Where are American's travelling to? Where are they allowed to travel?

reply

We can travel anywhere we want. It's still a semi-free country.

😎

reply

Within America presumably? I was thinking about overseas more. Although down here in Australia we had states close borders to get it under control which has worked. In my state people couldn't even travel outside the metro areas for a while.

reply

As Americans, we only do it if it’s not too inconvenient. Or if the political party we like says to. If the other party says to, we wont cuz they can’t be right.

reply

Which explains why the U.S. leads the world in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths. It's that arrogant attitude again, where delusional Americans exist in their own special little world. They believe they are exempt from the problems affecting the entire globe. Pandemic? That's a problem for other countries.

reply

Some Americans.

reply

Too many Americans. Enough to ruin it for the rest of the country.

reply

Very true.

reply

Yes, within America. When it comes to other countries, we have to adhere to their requirements.

reply

I wonder how many countries are accepting flights from America right now?

reply

In Australia we have only received a COVID-19 tap on the wrist compared to what is happening in America, Britain and Europe. I can only imagine how worrying it must be for you all. Hopefully 2021 will see a turning of the tide against this virus.

Everyone in England can travel for a few days over the Christmas period. Yay?!
But after coming out of this second lockdown, there will be the new stringent tiers in place until March.

reply

I'm in tier 3 as of next wed. We can't travel out of our area. My best friend, who I spend every new year with is in tier 2. The first time in years I'm not gonna be with her this year ☹

reply

That’s sad....similar situation with me 😣
This year has been so rough.

reply

I'm thankful to be in Oz as well. The lockdowns were harsh and in Victoria, long too. But from what I have seen in other countries if you don't get it under control early enough it becomes hopeless.

reply

That's exactly what my sister (a LPN) said today!

😎

reply

fauci said Santa is not contagious so a kid sees Santa on the street and wonders why mom's freakn out

reply

And all of those deaths could have been prevented.

Hell, all the deaths for the last six months could have been prevented!

reply

It will be sad a Christmas, or very different as usual, everywhere.

reply

Yes it will be sad it sucks. I pray with all my heart this Covid buisness ends sometime in 2021 so we can be safe, have fun, and NOT put up with selfish ignorant fools ruining everything by spreading their nasty germs around.

reply

Make the best of it.

reply

There's something to be said for simply staying home. Forgo all the stress of running here and there. Just relax and enjoy peace and quiet.

reply

Sad that folks cannot make a simple sacrifice for one holiday season. My daughter was going to visit on Thanksgiving, but we decided against it. The more Covid cases there are out there, the better one's chances are of catching it. Not scared. Just cautious.

reply

I wouldn’t chance it either. My wife came down with it and she’s fine now but it really put a scare into my family. Be safe.
