I found this site recently and I didn't expect any activity cause it seemed pretty old but I was wrong. When did you all find this site and why?

Whenever it was that imdb shut their boards. I always like to have a read of them after I've watched a film. I never posted anything there though.

After much searching I finally found movie chat.

Same here, for years I was a lurker on the IMDb boards. I created my account here about a year ago, as I needed help finding a movie (and succeeded). Stayed for the General Discussion. :)

I stumbled on this site over three years ago after I'd spent a good few months at a different movie board following the exodus from IMDb, the amount of active users and old IMDb posts kept me here.

I USED TO BE A REGULAR ON MSN CHAT IN THE MOVIES ROOM AND A FEW OTHER MOVIE RELATED ROOMS AND SITES UNTIL CHAT DIED...CUT TO A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO.I WAS FEELING NOSTALGIC FOR CHAT AND LOOKED FOR ANY HAPPENING ROOMS...THERE ARENT ANY.. BUT FOUND THIS PLACE AND A FEW OTHERS LIKE IT...THE OTHERS TURNED OUT TO BE DEAD OR CESSPOOLS OF SCUM...SO I FULLY COMMITTED MYSELF TO THIS SITE.

I came here either right before or right after the IMDb message boards shut down. It might even have been the same day. I liked this new site right away. I must have seen someone on IMDb post about this site so I knew to come here.

Me too. Would have hated going to Reddit or Facebook to talk about movies.

Same story as some others. Vaguely recall someone suggesting this as IMDb was shutting down.
And here we are.
