Which is a worse sequel?
Superman IV: Quest for Peace (1987) or Batman and Robin (1997)?
If I had to pick I'd say Quest for Peace.
What do you think?

I don't know. Both movies are awful.
shareBatman and Robin is worse. Superman IV is clearly budget constrained. They made as good movie as possible within the limitations. For the money it was quite enjoyable. Batman and Robin had no excuses. They deliberately cranked up the cheese and childishness to 11. It's just simply a bad filmmaking.
shareInteresting...your right about the budget issues with Superman IV.
My only issue (or it's not really an issue) but how much MORE CHEESE & $$$ did WB squeeze from Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.
I mean both were cheesy. Lots of quick action scenes. Neat special effects. Big acts with soundtracks. Both had action figures and video games.
What did Batman and Robin do wrong that Batman Forever did right?
I know that's a crazy argument or thought.
What did Batman and Robin do wrong that Batman Forever did right?
NOTHING...I WOULD PUT BOTH FILMS ABOUT EVEN...5/10.
I know right. But Batman Forever was this "gigantic success" that helped relaunch (I guess this would now be a reboot) the entire franchise.
But Batman and Robin is known to be some sort of franchise killer.
Batman and Robin was so bad that my school grade kids wanted to leave well before it ended.
Quest for Peace was earnest in its story. It suffered from bad writing and effects.
Batman and Robin was a full on return to Adam West Batman. When they did the Bat credit card joke I pulled an eyeball muscle rolling them so hard.
Superman 4. At least Batman and Robin is entertainingly bad.
