Does anyone else hate dark mode?
The only app I can tolerate it on is YouTube because it's not black, it's grey. Every other app it hurts my eyes and when I look away I can still see the lines of text.

shareWhile dark mode may take some getting used to at first, it is actually better for your eyes.
shareReally? I've heard the opposite.

Personally for me, I just find it so much harder to read.
I prefer dark mode. It's easier to see.
shareI find myself almost squinting on dark mode.
shareIt does work better for some apps than others, but I find it a lot easier on my eyes. After having Lasik I'm a lot more sensitive to light.
shareIs that a side effect? I would assume it would make it better for your eyes to see light.
shareIt's not common, and I wouldn't say that it's a bad sensitivity, I was just not sensitive at all before hand, so now it seems more dramatic if I'm not wearing my sunglasses on a bright day, or turn on my phone in a dark room.
shareDepends on the content. For mostly visual work I prefer Dark Mode, like for video or photo viewing / editing. Also games, etc. The interface get out of the way to make me focus more on the centerpiece.
But for a lot of reading I like Light Mode more. Like for Office applications, ebooks or web browser. Easier to read and more natural just like books. No one read white letters on black paper books, right?
Oooh. I agree. I don't read books in dark mode.
shareI think that's why I don't mind YouTube in dark mode. But they also don't go full-on black. It's a dark grey and it's fine on my eyes.
shareme! i hate that shit!
i occasionally have switched twitter over to dark mode, but it always feels 'wrong,' distractingly so, and i never stick with it.
I don't know if Twitter has the same dark mode as it has when I had my account, but Twitter had the worst dark mode. The text was way too bright. It hurt my eyes. It was almost neon.
shareI use a Chrome extension called "night eye" that will create a dark mode for most sites. I like it on Moviechat:

that works
shareThat looks decent on moviechat. It's not black so it won't hurt my eyes.
