How The Hell Can I Have a Body Temperature of 77 F?

When I get a ride, they do this laser check on my forehead.. In the past, I was 92, or 87, but yesterday, 77.3 F

And yesterday, I was picked up at 1:30pm.. I do sleep with the heat off at night. Today it was 58 F when I woke up, but I turn that heat up to 72 immediately, as well as my space heater to wean off (there's no reason to heat the rest of my house, since I'm only in my living room while I'm awake)

Look in the mirror. Do you look like this?

If so, you are a zombie.

If you are only 77 degrees, I would immediately check with your doctor. Body temperature that low is dangerous.

I'm going to guess it was faulty equipment (despite being from the local government)

reply

I see what you did there!

What did I do?

reply

you should be shivering

My guess is the laser only measures the temperature at skin level and if you had used an under tongue thermometer it would have come out normal. I would think that your skin level temperature would have to be somewhat consistent with the air temperature.

Yeah, they zap you from about a foot away I think, maybe less. But with the cold air outside, I don't know how any of these people never say anything like "Man, that's low".. After 6 months, I asked the last 3 times.

Next time you sink your fangs into a human throat to feed try a hot blooded Latino !

I don't take these temp checks very seriously. They take ours here after being outside in blazing heat and sweating. I go to Wholefoods directly after hot yoga, and I've never been stopped at the check point.

I don't think those temp gun things are very accurate, other than maybe occasionally identifying individuals with unusually high temps. In my job, I now regularly have to take others' temperature using one of these devices, and you get some pretty weird results.

The battery is dying on the thermometer or was sitting on an ice cube
