Is making 'Best of' lists and charts more a guy thing?

Us blokes, we love compiling 'best of' lists and charts for pretty much anything, but do you think it's more of a guy thing? I haven't come across many ladies who do this.

Sexist!

reply

And probably racist too.

Listist!

reply

Istist!

reply

Possibly, I do love to make a list.

Then again, I also love shopping and baking, so I may not be your best case study.

reply

Psst! I love shopping too (keep it under your hat).

🤐🔑👍

I’m addicted to the list thing and love seeing other people’s list also so I can find new things.

reply

I actually have a list of lists.

reply

👍💯👍

reply

No idea. I never make lists like that, though, I'm too indecisive.

reply

For us list makers, that would be the ever evolving list.

Get back to the 20th century! Ohh you male chauvinist!

My blood is boiling right now, I’m gonna make a list about things that make my blood boil:

1 Loud noisy neighbours!
2 People who eat whilst on the telephone
3 Email spam
4 Fake eyebrows
5 Elevator music
6 Wigs!!!!
7 Posts or lists about annoyances 🤔

reply

Oh stop. You are making me laugh.

reply

😂

reply

Hahaha😁
Someone had to post this!

We should do a ‘100 things I’ve learned from Moviebuff’ thread.

reply

100 things about the Irishman!

reply

1. The Irishman is at least as good as Prometheus.

reply

2. The Irishman is underappreciated just like Jaws.

I don't know, but I remember a British guy telling me that it was Americans who are statistic crazy. I mean we even show 'hang time' for a football that's been punted. American sports commentators are always coming up with more and more obscure stats!

But the context we were talking about was music charts. We have so many music charts that it will make your head spin. There are 18 charts for R&B/Hip-Hop alone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_charts

reply

baseball is really bad when it comes to stats. i turn down the sound these days.

reply

Americans are the stat masters.

reply

Madness!

reply

I do. There are plenty of females on youtube who do as well.

reply

Fair enough - I just think men are more anal about it.

reply

You could be right. I know I never make favourite lists as I just can't. But I do make lists of top 10 places I want to visit next or top five restaurants I want to eat at next type lists. I don't know if that's really what you are talking about.

reply

I just find that men are really passionate about creating lists and place a huge importance on maintaining them, almost to the point of obsession.

reply

I don't make lists of "best" or "worst" anything. It's too hard to decide what belongs on it. But I do make lists of books/movies I've read/seen or would like to read/see. Does that count?

I just find that it seems more important to men, almost like an OCD thing.
