Hoarder

Trying to help a hoarder move is exhausting.

reply

I can imagine. Though the move is a great opportunity to stop hoarding stuff.

reply

Yeah I'm making him just chuck stuff. Cathartic shit.

reply

Good luck!

If only.

reply

Hoarder? I hardly even knew her!

reply

Sorry you have to deal with that. My parents moved about five years ago and even as non-hoarders, it was really hard to mop up the memories of 50 years of marriage and pick which ones could fit into a two bedroom apartment.

reply

Been there, done that. Had to clean out the family home after my parents died. Forty years of stuff - and they were children during the Great Depression, meaning they kept a lot of things, just in case. I wouldn't call them hoarders, but...it was a lot to do almost entirely on my own.

reply

Wow, yeah, that's a lot of work, especially to do on your own.

reply

Took me six months to get the house ready to sell. Four brothers and only one of them actually did what he promised up front that he'd do. He was working seven days a week and knew he wouldn't have much time, but he honored his commitment. The other three were always "busy" when I needed help. Yeah, I'm a little bitter, but whatever. At least I know who has my back and who doesn't.

reply

Beer helps. I wouldn't help him move without a near constant flow of beer. Plus I get first pick of all the good stuff, shit now I'm hoarder.

reply

Beer is essential!

Fo sho.

The guy from Game of Thrones?

reply

I'm one of the few people in the world who has never seen game of thrones. All refoes go over my head.

reply

The GOT crowd might have found my joke funny🚶‍♂️

reply

I'll take thems words for it.

reply

This grown man cried when the reason behind his name was revealed.

reply

Good luck. I understand how frustrating this can be. Did you rent a dumpster? Tough love is an important approach here.

reply

Nah. Fuck that. Just everything bin worthy, straight down the dump on the back of the ute.
