Tucker and Dale Vs Evil
Rubber
Rare Exports (Finnish movie)

reply

rubber's more weird/surreal than comedy imo, but those are solid recommendations.

reply

We were doubled over laughing at it last week anyway, but I guess the copious amounts of alcohol consumed will have attributed to that too😁

reply

When mentioning Rare Exports, I always make sure to note that it contains slightly more decrepit old man nudity than the average Christmas flick.

reply

And ruin the surprise? Tut tu tut... I'm disappointed

reply

haha!!

reply

Tucker and dale I saw and enjoyed.
Rubber is something I have been curious to watch for a while now
Rare exports is in my amazon.ca wishlist but too expensive to buy

Thanks and let me know if you think of more

reply

fyi, if you want to stream it, rare exports is on tubi:

https://tubitv.com/movies/527863/rare_exports_a_christmas_tale?start=true

reply

Awesome! thanks

reply

2 more I like are,
The Frighteners and
Life After Beth

reply

I own the frightners but never watched. I shall get to it..

I saw life after beth but forgor about most of it

reply

I really like The Frighteners. You should watch it :)

the love witch isn't really comedy, or horror, but it has a skewed sensibility that i really like.

pieces (1982)
one cut of the dead (2017)
the final girls (2015) (is this the same movie as your 'the final girl?' i know there's a film called the final girl that i remember enjoying...)
the voices (2014) - i remember liking this, but haven't seen it in years, so i won't absolutely swear by it. it popped up on tubi recently, & have been planning to give it a re-watch.
the lure (2015) again, it's not really comedy or horror, but it's so weird, so peculiar that i think it deserves a mention.

& i really love dude bro party massacre, but i have the feeling you've seen that before & didn't like it too much if i'm remembering things properly.

reply

It'S definitely not that one: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1541110/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3 lol so yeah, we had the same one in mind.

The voices: did not know about this one. Perfect suggestion. Now on top of my list.

you remember right about dude bro party massacre

reply

re final girls - haha, that's definitely not the same movie i was thinking of.

confusingly, there's a movie called final girl with abigail breslin:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2124787/

i know i saw that years ago, &...i think it was...ok? maybe?

but my final girls is this one:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2118624/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

with taissa farmiga - & i think that's the one you mean as well. & i agree, it's a really fun time.

reply

You Might Be the Killer (2018)
The Cottage (2008)

reply

i liked you might be the killer quite a bit. not on shudder anymore, unfortunately...

reply

yeah i really had no expectations and knew nothing of either one and was pleased with both. i will say i think the cottage is the better movie.

if you havent seen it, watch The Cottage with the expectation that its a bumbling crime comedy, and be prepared that is all its going to be and enjoy the ride. if youre not in the mood for a silly crime flick you might be disappointed.

reply

i just checked, & i see that i have it sitting on my letterboxd watchlist. i don't remember putting it there, but i must have read a good review, or someone recommended it to me some time back, because it looks like it's been on my list for a good length of time. who knows, maybe you were the one who recommended it to me.

it's streaming on crackle, so i'll probably give it a watch tomorrow. thanks.

reply

Thanks. Added both.

Return of the Living Dead (1985)

This movie is the perfect blend of horror and humor.

reply

I think I saw it when I was like 12. I'll try to find it.

reply

I’m pretty sure it’s streaming on Amazon. It may just be my kind of humor, but I laugh my ass off watching the mortician and the warehouse guys freaking out in this one.
