want to hear from fans of "found footage" films...

I am personally, and professionally curious about the interest in films made of, or mostly of "found footage": cheap, shaky, out of focus, as if found from some amateur person making the video.

1. Are you drawn to these every time you find one?

2. Why do you think you enjoy "Found footage" movies?

3. Have you seen any you didn't like after viewing, and why?

i generally liked them, though they seem to have run their course by now

I'm not a fan.

I like them, but there are so many bad ones.

I liked Project X, it was a fun way to do something different for a high school party movie.

Not a fan - all that shakey cam stuff gives me a headache after a while.

I'm trying to figure out how it came into being... who it was made for...

it feels like they've made "low budget, no camera skills" a new form of art... but for who?

"Hey! Want to watch a low budget shaky shot, out of focus, home movie for the price of full production?"

It works a couple times, but many film makers I know think it is the coolest thing ever. Why? ANYONE can do it and fail, and many do.

Trying to figure the audience acceptance of these.

Blair Witch, Cloverfield and maybe a couple others aside I usually dislike them or completely avoid them

yeah i like them. I like the old school way of scaring you without ever actually seeing anything. Leaving it all up to your imagination. Blair Witch scared the shit out of me! The first Paranormal Activity was great too, the sequels not so much.
