What make, model and year of car do you have?

When did you get it?

How much was it? It's MSRP? What configuration did you get of it? What options did you get on it? What did you pay down?

Did you finance it? Lease it? Did you get it used? Did you get it new?

Did you get it from a dealership? Did you get it from an individual? Did you get it when it first began selling, or did you get it years after?

I don't own a car currently, but I've been thinking about getting my driver's permit for the first time after a long time of not having it.

I'm 32 years old, and first got my permit at 16 years old, but never got my license.

I've been thinking about trying to get my license for the first time, and getting a car for the first time maybe as well.

I drive an old Mustang on the weekends and a work truck during the week. Nothing special, together their value is probably less that 15k.

Paid cash for both.

Best of luck with your new, fingers crossed, driver's license.

Shogun, one of my best friends in high school had a 67’ White 3 speed 289. I used to love riding in that thing.

Mine was red, same drive train as your friend's though
Sweet car and pretty fast though they offered a bigger engine that year, but she was the one I found and I got her for $1,300 around 1988 (I was 15 and couldn't even legally drive at the time)

I started driving around that time too. Mine was a 69’ Chevy Stepside. If we had those vehicles now....

I love the old pickups and yup, if only we still had them

I go on the Craigslist just to daydream sometimes, some of the cool cars we bought for a couple grand back then START at 12-15K in very poor shape

That’s so crazy. So in the 80’s we were buying cars from the 60’s and now they are classics. It’s 2020 and I’ve got a 2000 Chevy 4x4 for sale right now. I wonder if I’ll regret selling this one years down the road.

It's hard to say but there was something about the pre 80s cars that was totally awesome: power, design, in some cases sheer size

A lot of really new cars, even the fancy ones, look sort of the same and boring

Maybe that's just nostalgia speaking though😄

I haven't owned a car in 20 years (actually a little more than that).

Pluses: No parking, maintenance, insurance, gas
Minuses: Restricts the number of places I can reasonably live. Can't easily travel outside public transportation routes.

NYC = New York City?

Living in a city, I imagine that is the best way to go.
It's pretty expensive to store/park a car in a city like NYC?

I heard the Honda CRV 2020 model is supposed to be a good one.

How is the older 2005 one? I've been wanting a nice SUV for myself, but don't know which one's I look forward to trying to get for myself -- if I ever learn how to drive, and get my driver's license.

15 years old and it is still running good. I take it for maintainance at the Honda dealer near my house every year to keep it in good shape.

I do mechanic work and it’s hard to go wrong with Hondas when it comes to getting a lot of miles out of them and good resale price.

A silver Chevy Cobalt, circa 2007.

It was used, so it might actually be older; I just know dad first got it from a Used Car Dealership in Texas back in '07. He eventually got a new car of his own and let me have it when my green Chevy Cavalier was given away to friends.

I'm actually not sure how much it was, but it has no frills, and apparently was once in an accident that the dealers kept secret, so obviously it wasn't worth as much as a brand new, present-day model.

What I like is the fact that this car has lasted us a long time, and has good mileage. It's a good investment if you're a regular, middle-class person who can't buy a new car every time you feel like it. On the downside, it doesn't have power windows (you gotta open them manually), I had to have a custom sound system installed just a few years ago, and it doesn't have power locks or a clicker, which is annoying, but manageable.

My parents have encouraged me, that when I finally get a job as a CMA, I should save up some money and get my own very first car, so I can sell the Chevy Cobalt to my nephew in Texas. He currently doesn't have a car either, and is only in his 20s.

4.4 litre V8 M TwinPower Turbo engine.
8-Speed M Steptronic.
0 to 60mph in 3 seconds.
625hp and 750Nm of torque.
I bought it last Christmas.

I'm a BMW guy too but I don't have one like that. Those are awesome!! I do have a very nice Z4 that I love, though. I SOOOO covet anything M (the actual M's)! ;)

Thanks, it’s quite a beast; palmprint entry, windscreen display and all sorts of other tricks. I’ve never been let down by BMW.

My daily driver is a 1998 Dodge 3500 Dually Diesel. I haul a lot of large trailers so it’s needed. It was wrecked when I bought it and I’ve restored it so it looks and drives great.

What make, model and year of car do you have? 1969 Dodge Charger.

When did you get it? A small town north of Lincoln, Maine; I can't remember the name it.

How much was it? $1,100.

It's MSRP? I don't know, but it was probably around $3,000 in 1969.

What configuration did you get of it? I don't know what this question means, but it was a basket case when I got it; basically a parts car.

What options did you get on it? It was originally equipped with air conditioning, power brakes, and an automatic transmission (unfortunately).

What did you pay down? I paid the full amount in cash.

Did you get it from an individual? Yes.

Did you get it when it first began selling, or did you get it years after? I got it in 1994, 25 years after it was manufactured.
