What Movie and TV show have you rewatched the most amount of times?

For me, it is these two -

Movie - The Man From Earth
TV Show - The Leftovers

reply

Movie- Conan (82) but Star Wars, The Goonies, Jaws and Lost Ark are very close

Show- Game Of Thrones

reply

Are the movies rewatched because they were on tv and you watched them there or by deliberate choice to view again?

GOT? Damn! How many times did you watch it already?

reply

Deliberate choice, they are some of my favorites

GOT 3 times

reply

Movie might be The Princess Bride, or Heathers

I think TV show would be the 1995 tv mini series for Pride and Prejudice, or maybe Dead Like Me.

reply

TPB is a great movie. I think it is the most quoted movie for sure.

Only seen the Knightley movie version of P&P. Haven't seen Dead Like Me yet.

reply

Pride and Prejudice is great, isn't it? They're doing a second re-run in one year and I can't help myself but watch it again!

reply

One historical society plays it once a year here in the theatre in the historical park. It's a whole day affair with wagon rides and a picnic lunch, and a sit down dinner in an old hotel. People dress up. So much fun.

reply

My only real objection was the way Alison Steadman played Mrs Bennet. So shrill it was like fingernails down a blackboard. Otherwise it's a masterpiece.

reply

Well, she could've toned it down a little, but the character is pretty ridiculous.

reply

The way she played Mrs Bennet yes completely ridiculous. Brenda Blethyn's Mrs Bennet from the 2005 film was a totally different take on the character.

reply

The character from the book is pretty ridiculous.

reply

I'll take your word for it, it's so long since I read the book I can't remember. The thing with Alison Steadman's Mrs Bennet was she was so extreme that she stood out against all the other characters. It was like a pantomime performance by comparison and stuck out like a sore thumb.

reply

I'd say that Mr. Collins was also one of the more caricatural characters (in the book as well) who are meant to provide comedic relief.

reply

Yes I guess people liked to make fun of clergymen back in Austen's day. Dickens often had a buffoon or two in his novels as well for comic relief.

reply

Movie - 48 Hrs. (1982)....maybe It's a Wonderful Life (1946)....great companion pieces
Tv - Mad Men....maybe The White Shadow

Shoutouts to Ghost World (2001), Pulp Fiction (1994), Thank You for Smoking (2005) and the Golden Girls....just because...

reply

I would think it would be A Christmas Story for many people. I probably watch it at least 3 times on the same day once a year.

reply

Lol right? It's not even a conscious decision, just something that must be done.

reply

Ha! Like it or not most people see it once a year at least

reply

Ooh, I like this one. I think Apollo 13 is probably the one I have watched the most but Mulan (the cartoon version) is a close second. I don't know why I like these two movies so much. I've probably watched Star Wars a million times but only because my little boys like it. My husband has watched Apocalypto at least 15 times. He also likes to rewatch Predator and Alien vs Predator.

I've seen The Princess Bride a few times but mostly because because at the time it was a college student thing to watch it and quote the lines. Good movie though.
