She was not breaking rules and seemed happy in our conversations...What gives?
That was pretty sudden and quite unexpected

she will be happy to know she was missed.
shareWe need more chicks on this site, too bad the honeys don't want to post on this forum. I blame the patriarchy.
shareThat sucks.
The boards are getting less & less friendly everyday.
The Boards are what we make of them sslssg, nothing more and nothing less Dear Friend
We are fortunate to be in the company of some fine movie and music fans, many of them reasonable and able to expand on their opinions...We've all 'been around the block' so to speak and MC offers the highest concentration of normal media consumers I've ever encountered
There's a toilet out there somewhere that must be backed up, how else to explain the turds that have floated by in the last couple of days?
We hold the high ground, we'll always be here, just ignore the trash in the gutter👍
I don’t think as a whole they are becoming less friendly at all. There are certain forum post by certain members that, in my opinion, are best not responded to. Stay clear of those pitfalls and it’s the same ole MC.
shareTrue
The political nonsense that seems to get posted daily is a bit of a drag
Likewise, the 'My demographic has it harder than yours' hooey is a bit of a buzzkill ...it's kind of unintentionally funny too, their opposite numbers are just as likely to post the same bullspit as well
POOR US! We feel victimized and helpless😭
Hold it together, you get one ride around and you do your best
There seems to be a generational war going on around here which I find retarded, for lack of a better word, don't judge me cause I use certain words. But I get along with almost every age bracket here, and in the real world.
But yeah can do your head in, well mine anyhow, fathoming... Is that a word? How people can't just relax. Chats about movies should be choice peeps!
Spoken like a true millennial. ;)
shareMaybe more people equals less friendly. But more people equals good. In my book. We need more people so obscure and less talked about movies get responded to. So take the cunts out there with a grain a salt cause they add to this now alive beast.
shareThis is so true. You really need a larger group of people if you want to be able to have fun conversations about anything that isn't currently on tv. I feel like the problem is that the bigger the usership of these kinds of sites gets, the harder it seems to become to have the sites continue to function. The original IMDB board, televisionwithoutpity, and probably a few other sites have tried to get it to work, and it seemed like it got too hard somehow. I don't know if it is the trolls, or if it just needs more moderating than can be done with volunteer mods, or what. But it is really true that one of the draws of a place like this, at least for me, is that I like to talk about older tv and movies, not just current stuff. And you really do need a bigger usership in order to get enough people who want to watch and talk about episodes of a show that has been off the air for years.
Amazon has a feature now where you can schedule "watch parties" to recreate that community feeling. But i feel like, especially when watching an older show, you really need that chat function. For me, the most fun part is chatting about the show with other people and anticipating jokes that I know are coming up, or a great scene, or trying to figure out what location was used for something, stuff like that. And you still need a big enough group, to be able to get enough people who randomly feel like watching "The A-Team" (randomly chosen show) at the same time.
I think it would be fun to have a summer rewatch schedule, almost like syndication but on the internet, and be like, ok people who want to watch The Muppet Show (also randomly chosen), we'll be watching episodes daily starting on June 10 at 8 pm. It doesn't matter if you miss one because we all saw all the episodes when we were kids, but that way you have someone to chat with. Of course, it's the end of the summer, so that idea doesn't work.
In general chat we should post a topic where as a group we vote on a genre and then a film. After it’s decided we post a link with a date and time one week ahead. Then whoever is participating all watch the film together and we can comment on the films board like a chat room. We would all start the film at the same time in whatever format is available for each individual. The topic could be the film name / date / and group watch or whatever.
It would be fun to try.
I watch tons of films online for free, and often post about them after I've seen them, if this ever takes off, why not discuss the film in that film's forum rather than in General and give that film a brief moment in the spotlight once more. 😉
shareI like it.
shareI'm in.🙋♀️
shareI didn't realize it was a she. Maybe one of the mods was perturbed she was trying to encourage me to start up a "I hate Aerosmith" page lol.
shareAww...she was nice. It's sad to see her go....
