No, we grew our own small whites in the veggie garden this year...No problems there
We've gone through a good number of large Vidalias and sweet Reds this summer...
No issues in my area
Oh, since you grow your own, youβre fine. Itβs a particular CA farm theyβve come from, that get shipped all over the US. The PA onions are also fine.

Why not?
They'll last longer if you keep them separate. Onions and potatoes both emit gasses that accelerate each other's spoilage.
