I now understand why people stay away from politics

I've never paid much attention to it before this year. Every election, I do my part by voting but that's about it.

Thus year, I finally understand why many people hate politics. It's toxic and nobody wins.

Not all countries have a toxic political culture. We had an election in Canada last year and I never had one political conversation during the whole campaign.

Very true. I figure people can believe what they want. But most waste their time trying to convince others of their beliefs. Very rarely can anyone convince someone of their own political beliefs. It's a losing battle.

Having personal views is one thing. But there's usually a lack of common sense in people's arguments. Several political views I hear contain selfish and silly reasons.

Throughout the 2000’s I worked a desk job and listened to political talk radio online my entire workday. I was balanced as I listened to a local show, Ed Shultz, Hannity, Rush and the Reverend Al Sharpton so I got both sides. I read many political books from both sides during this time also. At some point I realized it’s all BS and I gave it up for music and podcast. Every once in a while I turn in the TV just to laugh at how the right and left are brainwashing people. The commercials I see in TV now enrage me so I can’t watch for too long anyway. I have been much happier after giving up all that crap. πŸ‘

It's a foregone conclusion, at some point someone will be called a Nazi when they say something that is just basic fact or common sense.
